President Joe Biden is deploying one of his closest allies on Capitol Hill to East Africa to urge an end to the growing conflict in Ethiopia that has already killed thousands and forced hundreds of thousands to flee their homes.

TDA-UK Open Letter to International Development Committee House of Commons
TDA-UK 18 March 2021, 03-18-21 -We, at Tigray Development Association in the United Kingdom (TDA-UK), are extremely concerned about the deteriorating humanitarian crisis in Tigray and we see an opportunity to share our concern with the UK government to find a solution to the humanitarian crisis in Tigray and help the people of Tigray at this difficult time.

UNDP Ethiopia's Whitewash of the Genocidal War on Tigray
M. Tesfay, 18 March 2021, 03-18-21 - The UNDP Ethiopia’s “Leaked Note to the UNSG” penned by Achim Steiner and Ahunna Eziakonwa, UNDP Administrator and African Regional Director respectively, on 16 February 2021 on the current situation in Tigray and Ethiopia is a complete falsification and denial of the objective and subjective conditions prevailing in Tigray and Ethiopia at large.

Starving Civilians: Ethiopia's Method of Warfare in Tigray
Asayehgn Desta, 03-18-21 - The hunger and food crisis of 1974 contributed to the downfall of the HaileSelassie regime. The drought that caused the death of more than one million Ethiopians in 1984 destabilized and eventually shattered the authoritarian Dergue regime, removing it from power in 1991. Currently, because Abiy has either hardly learned from the previous disastrous epochs in Ethiopia or is negligent to pay enough attention to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court...

The Tigray Ethnic Cleansing:
Ezana H. (from Mekelle) 18.03.21 - The Eritrean, federal and Amhara forces have intensified their massacring, torturing, raping and abusing Tigrayans en masse in the last few days and weeks. Looting, pillaging, destroying private property of peasants, town and cities dwellers and small and medium businesses by the Eritrean, federal and Amhara forces are commonplace in the region.

Birth of a Nation
Alemseged Abbay 03-16-21- Dedicated to Abbay Tsehaye, my classmate from primary school to the History Department, H.S.I. University, who dedicated his entire life to the struggle. Murdered by the genocidaire (a Rwandan term), he lives giant in our hearts.

When the Amhara ganged up with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Eritrea, and Somalia to slaughter Tegaru en masse and launched the scorched earth policy of burning farm crops, killing livestock, and uprooting and/or destroying any economic infrastructure, the extermination of the people appeared a real possibility.

Ethiopian general tells diplomats of 'dirty war' in Tigray
March 16, 2021 - A "dirty war" causing suffering for "defenceless" victims is unfolding in Ethiopia's northern Tigray region, a general said in a private briefing with diplomats last week, according to an audio recording of his comments obtained by AFP.
The US needs to push hard on its former hired guns to stop the senseless massacre of Tigrayans. Tigrayans know why this war was imposed on them. The US knows who enabled Abiy and Isaias Afeworki to unleash the war. The US needs to call back its running dogs unleashed by the Trump administration. It is that simple! Judging by the comment of Abiy's General, I am hopeful Biden is doing that... [Zeru Hagos 3/16/21]

Ethiopia: Hundreds executed, thousands homeless - the human cost of fighting in Tigray
The breadth and depth of human suffering in the Ethiopian region of Tigray is perfectly clear to humanitarian workers, human rights groups and the international diplomatic community. After four months of warfare between Ethiopia's national defence force and fighters from the Tigray, observers are collecting a worrying selection of data. More than 500,000 Tigrayans have lost their homes. Almost 60,000 have sought refugee status in neighbouring Sudan.

Oromo Canadian Community Open Letter to Amb Linda Thomas-Greenfield UN Security Council President
March 15, 2021 - The Oromo Canadian Community Association of Atlantic Canada and the Oromo Community Association of Nova Scotia appreciates the timely intervention plan by the UN Security Council to bring peace and stability in Ethiopia. We strongly urge the planned peaceful dialogue to be an all-inclusive effort that accommodates all opposition political parties & actors operating in the largest regional state, Oromia...

An Ethiopian Doctor Records the Destruction of His Homeland
In the arid expanse of eastern Sudan, where the borders of Eritrea, Ethiopia and Sudan meet, in a camp of plastic-tarp shelters and straw mats, a man is standing before an angry crowd. He gazes out at the hungry faces as the haggard group calls for food. In his hand, he clutches a black notebook, as though it could help him.

Torches of Hatred and Barbarians on the March
Aynalem Sebhatu 03-13-21 - Much has been talked of the unspeakable horrors of massacres and unrelenting sexual violence of girls and women in Tigray. As if that is not enough, a gruesome parade of inhumanity is recorded in a video and shared in social media this week. The clips show a woman gang raped and violated with blunt objects by Eritrean soldiers and another clip show soldiers of the Amhara forces summarily executing innocent Tigrayans with ease and joy as if their diabolical acts nourish their soulless bodies.

MSF denounces widespread attacks on Tigray clinics
The medical charity MSF on Monday condemned a "deliberate and generalised" programme of targeting clinics in the conflict-hit Tigray region of Ethiopia. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed launched a military campaign in Tigray last year after blaming the region's ruling party...

Why Sovereignty? To Command Tigrai's Skies Perpetually!
Aesop 03/14/2021 - Tigrai is in international spotlight today. This is, above all the making of the Tigrean people, the suffering, and the sacrifices they have sustained ignited (in a sad way) the global outrage. Then, we have Tegaru diaspora that executed their responsibility of exposing the atrocities our people endured rather effectively. Finally, we have the conscientious people of the world, including multilateral agencies, human rights defenders, and the global press at large.

Ethiopia: video of Tigray massacre lifts lid on 'war without photos'
Men in uniform slaughtered dozens of people in a small village in the Tigray region of Ethiopia on January 5, 2021, right in the midst of the usually festive Orthodox Christmas season. Thirty bodies are seen on the ground in a video that has been circulating online despite the current internet blackout in the Tigray region...

Mr Chairman, Thank you, but NO! A Big NO!
(Zst-Tig) 03-12-21 - Ethiopian government rejected mediation efforts by the then chairperson of African union, President Cyril Ramphosa. President Ramaphosa appointed a team of ‘Distinguished States-persons’ to help end the conflict.Chairman of the African Union commission Mr Moussa Faki Mahamat was either quiet, or at times supportive of the campaign of Genocide on Tigray by Ethiopian and Eritrean governments and Amhara expansionist Genocidal forces.

We Commend the USA; Thank you, but No Thanks for the OAU Interference!
Diaspora Association of Tigrians in Europe March 13, 2021 - The Government of the USA's position expressed by its foreign secretary, Antony Blinlken, has incontrovertible evidence ethnic cleansing is taking place in Tigray by the joint forces of Amhara, federal-state forces, and Eritrean army. Based on the United Nations human rights Charter, this is an act of genocide ...

Herman J. Cohen On Abiy Ahmed
Abiy has unleashed a disaster he can no longer manage. Asking him to take some actions with the expectation that the humanitarian situation would improve is a failure to understand the disaster. It is important that the international community come to grips with this fact. Abiy Ahmed should step down immediately & hold accountable.
Better late than never! Is Mr. Herman feeling guilty? Unless he is trying to blame it on ignorance, he was told his support for Abiy early on was misguided and unwise. He was one among the many who enabled Abiy to become emboldened and destroy Ethiopia!!

Blinken: Acts of 'ethnic cleansing' committed in Western Tigray
(CNN)Secretary of State Tony Blinken for the first time Wednesday used the term "ethnic cleansing" to describe human rights abuses he said have been carried out in the Western Tigray region of Ethiopia, calling the situation "unacceptable." "The challenge in Ethiopia is very significant. And it's one that we're very, very focused on, particularly the situation in Tigray where we are seeing very credible reports of human rights abuses and atrocities that are ongoing,"

Pursuant to Article 15 of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, an open communication to Office of the Prosecutor (OTP), on grave violations of human rights in the Tigray region of Ethiopia
Tedros Amanuel Chairperson Swedish-Eritrean Association of Human Rights and Democracy 03-12-21 - Multiple, consistent and reliable reports of alleged crimes against humanity, crimes of genocide, war crimes committed by Ethiopian and Eritrean soldiers, and alleged crimes of aggression committed by the leaders of the state of Eritrea in Tigray, have reached the international community. The United Nations has, therefore, the moral obligation and legal responsibility to conduct an independent investigation

EU floats Ethiopia sanctions over humanitarian aid
Ethiopian authorities and others obstructing humanitarian aid into the Tigray region could end up on an EU sanctions list, under a new idea floated by the European Commission.

Fighting in Ethiopia threatens US security interests
Jendayi Frazer and Judd Devermont - It is a grave mistake to frame the Ethiopian conflict narrowly as a humanitarian and human rights problem. It is a regional crisis that threatens U.S. security interests. The United States must work, foremost with African countries, to stop the fighting before it is too late.

Global Immunization Possible by 2022 With Fair Vaccine Distribution, says WHO COVID-19 Special Envoy
The World Government Summit Dialogues saw world leaders outline solutions to humanity’s most urgent challenges during the virtual event on 9-10 March. Dr. David Nabarro, Special Envoy on COVID-19 to the World Health Organization (WHO), claimed the unfair weighting of vaccine access in favour of rich countries will delay the global recovery

Ethiopia's Senior Ambassador to the U.S. Amb Berhane Kidanemariam Resigns Over Tigray War

Throughout my career, I have always been honest with government and party officials about concerns I have had with the direction of the country, I have always tried to put what I believe is best for my country...Instead of solving conflicts through dialogue, the Prime Minister has chosen to solve ideological and political differences by abusing the judicial system and using the military to suppress opposition to his rule. the Ethiopian government is intensifying its campaign of lies and deceit by denying the presence of foreign powers, denying atrocities being committed against the people of Tigray...I have loved serving as a diplomat for my country but I cannot do so at the expense of my values, and certainly not at the expense of my people

Joint NGO Letter to H.E. Ms. Linda Thomas-Greenfield, Permanent Representative of the US to the UN in New York, on the crisis in Ethiopia
We, the undersigned human rights organizations, would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on your appointment as Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations in New York. Your appointment comes at a time of unprecedented crisis, with a global pandemic and a multitude of conflict-related crises that demand the attention of the UN Security Council. This includes the worsening situation in Tigray, Ethiopia.

Ethiopia: Between the Devil and the Deep Muddy Lake Tana
Aynalem Sebhatu 03-09-21 - With a full swing of ethnic cleansing in western Tigray taking place, with all eyes of the worldwide open, one might innocently think that no one should deny it. But the Amhara extremists who buried their head in the deep muddy water of Lake Tana provide "alternative facts" with remarkable rigor of denials. Much as the officials of the Amhara regional state dislike admitting...

Ethiopia: Time to tell the truth, Ambassador
Ethiopia's war is being fought not just in a blackout, but also in a fog of lies - and Ethiopia's envoy to the EU is making matters worse. Hirut Zemene, Ethiopia's EU ambassador, recently wrote to EUobserver, accusing Finland''s foreign minister...

The U.N. Must End the Horrors of Ethiopia's Tigray War
