When the TDF military commanders told us Tigrayans started with nothing to build a formidable fighting force, they were not joking. This picture tells it all! This lone female fighter would have died had it not been for the scant stored rainwater on the ground. Only Tigrayans can survive such calamity and win spectacularly on the battlefield.

W.T. J. Daniels 07-29-21- All that glisters (glitters) is not gold. Two years later he proved the international community that he was never worthy of such a great honor which has, for over a hundred years, been bestowed upon men and women who had made a real difference in the world. to streamline and improve its global operations and position itself for futu

NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) - The U.S. official who wrote a Pulitzer Prize-winning book on genocide is visiting Ethiopia next week to press the government to lift what the U.S. calls a blockade on humanitarian aid to the conflict-hit Tigray region, where hundreds of thousands of people now face deadly famine.

An Ethiopian Road Is a Lifeline for Millions. Now It's Blocked.
AFAR, Ethiopia - The road, a 300-mile strip of tarmac that passes through some of the most inhospitable terrain on earth, is the only way into a conflict-torn region where millions of Ethiopians face the threat of mass starvation. But it is a fragile lifeline, fraught with dangers that have made the route barely passable for aid convoys trying to get humanitarian supplies into the Tigray region, where local fighters have been battling the Ethiopian army for eight months.

Who Started The Tigray War of Genocide
SJT 07-25-21- Eight months have elapsed since the leaders of Ethiopia and Eritrea poured their entire national armies into Tigray, supported by a large but unknown number of Amhara militia and other forces, UAE's weaponized drones, and a contingent of Somalia's soldiers with an estimated strength of 4,000 personnel. To date, the war has unleashed horrific, heartbreaking, and extensive damages to civilians and property unseen anywhere in the world.

    Abiy Ahmed's Destabilization of Ethiopia
Hafsa Mohamed and Mohamed Ahmed (Homeland Security Today) - Ethiopia is in serious turmoil and another historical political transition is, perceptibly, impending. Ongoing conflicts in different parts of the country, state-facilitated starvation, fresh nationwide anti-government uprisings - and the Horn of Africa nation is once again in mayhem and the future is dreadfully uncertain. Ethiopia is at a bloodcurdling juncture

Destroying the Empire to Preserve Ethiopia
Fessahaye Mebrahtu 07-27-21 - The brutal civil war in Ethiopia which started on November 24, 2020, targeting the government and people of Tigray has diverted the course of Ethiopia was taking on road to democracy and economic development. The momentum of war has shifted in favor of Tigray Defense Forces (TDF). However, with the expansion of the conflict area, the jury is still out. Only time will tell who the final victor will be. Yet at the speed things are developing, it won’t be too long to find out. In any civil war, there is no winner or loser.

Grim aftermath of Ethiopian battle offers rare clues of brutal war
Burned-out military vehicles, boxes of ammunition and the bodies of scores of federal troops were still scattered along the dirt road that runs through the Ethiopian village of Sheweate Hugum three weeks after the fighting subsided. Beside them lay the leftovers of lives cut short: family photographs, school diplomas, Ethiopian flags.

    Update: Chifra - Woldiya Front.
According to eyewitnesses from the area, Abiy and Agegnehu Teshager foot soldiers supported by Oromo special forces were routed to retake Chifra in the Afar region. The battle lasted two days and the heroic Tigray Forces with the support of local Afar Militia have for all intent destroyed the last hope of Abiy, the Republican Guard unit, he deployed there hoping to free Woldiya from the Afar side. Abiy used all in his power including tanks and helicopter gunships to no avail. The leftover remnants have retreated to Mille town. As you know Chifra is the last militarily significant place before the strategic Mille town. [Aigaforum 07-27-21]

If I were allowed a second God I would worship The TDF
Kalayu Abrha 07-25-21- Although the social psyche in Tigray is (was) more strongly bonded with Ethiopia, it is always accused of posing a threat to the very existence of Ethiopia. It is all the same whether Tigray does something good for or something bad to Ethiopia. It is just being Tigray that matters for the hate-blinded multitudes to brand it with all kinds of names as anti-Ethiopia. This has its roots in the past indicating that it is chronic. The great Tigrayan- Ethiopian scholar Gebrehiwot Baykedagn has written this sad statement as far back as a century ago: "Menilik did not consider Tegaru as his own people". This attitude of Arat-Kilo towards Tigray has been consistent throughout the century.

On the Ethiopian border, refugees fleeing fighting, famine make for Sudan
(PBS) 07-24-21 - Abiy Ahmed of Ethiopia launched a government offensive last November against rebels in the northern region of Tigray. At the time, he promised the war would be over in a matter of weeks. But the ongoing conflict has led to thousands of deaths, displaced almost 2 million people, and led to charges of ethnic cleansing and widespread sexual violence, mostly by government forces.

    Thinking out loud!

What are all the Fota Lebash doing in Dansha and Humera? Are they cut off from returning to Gondar - Qoerta on a large scale? I had a feeling they will be the new conscripts for a new "Kefagn tor" in Eritrea soon.
ወይ ቆረጣ! ቓፍታ ሁመራ ቁጭ ብለው ደባርቕ አስወረሩት. አረሱት የሚለው ዘፈን አሁን ነበር መዝፈን! [Zeru Hagos 07-26-21]

Amhara Killil President Declared 'Tigray People as an Enemy'.
I thought the man sounded like a defeated person when I heard his private message to Tamagn Beyene the other day. Now I know not only he is a defeated man but also a mad genocidal man. The Amhara people deserve a better leader. [Zeru Hagos 07-25-21]

A bloody eight-month battle for control of the north Ethiopian state of Tigray has spilled over into the neighbouring region of Afar in the past week. Call to Stop the Siege of Tigray and the Use of Starvation as a Weapon of War
GSTS 07-22-21 - Eight months into the genocidal war on Tigray, serious mass atrocities and breaches of international law have been committed in different parts of Tigray by the combined Ethiopian National Defense forces (ENDF), Eritrean Defense Forces (EDF), and Amhara Special Forces and militia. These egregious atrocities have been committed in the dark with telephone, internet, electricity, and transport including roads, completely blocked by the Ethiopian government.

The price of indifference and shortsightedness
EsaTed 21/07/2021 - The rush to gloss over what happened in Tigray since November 4, 2021, and push Tigray to accept a meaningless ceasefire by some in the media in Ethiopia and in the diaspora has been almost as painful to see as the indifference by many fellow citizens to the atrocities committed against Tigray.

A Reflection on Tigray's Maneuver Action Plan that Routed Abiy' Allied Forces
Asayehgn Desta, Sarlo Distinguished Professor 07-21-21 - The constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, promulgated in 1995, was supposed to resolve ethnic conflict and enhance self- and shared rule. But, contrary to expectations, Ethiopia became heavily embroiled in inter-ethnic skirmishes starting in 2018. Demand for self-rule and ethnic fighting has been brewing in a number of Ethiopia’s regional states. More than 3 million none-native ethnic groups that lived and intermarried with ...

Ethiopia: Grim Realities and Vain Hopes
Aynalem Sebhatu 07-20-21 - Before the ascent of Abiy Ahmed in 2018, the Ethiopian economy had been performing at one of the highest growth rates of the world. The hopes of Ethiopians fighting the grinding poverty off their backs that once were associated with the country’s strong economy have long since plunged on the grim realities of the wars in Tigray, Oromia and Benishangul-Gumuz and its agonizing consequences.

An Open Letter to the: United Nations, African Union, European Union, United Sates Secretary of State, United Nations Security Counci
Security and Justice for Tigrayans (SJT) once again would like to draw your attention to the ongoing Tigray genocide in Ethiopia. It has been over eight months since Abiy Ahmed of Ethiopia and Isaias Afwerki of Eritrea subjected Tigray and Tigrayans to total destruction. The brutality of the war, the crimes committed against all ages, and the material loss are by now clear to the whole world.

Is a coup in Ethiopia imminent?
Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed was once the toast of the international community. He was young, spoke the language of democracy, and was willing to reverse longtime policy to end the border conflict with Eritrea. In 2019, he took home the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts. Today, he is a Nobel embarrassment.

Tigrayan group in UK raises serious concerns about CDC investment in Ethiopia telecoms
A group of Tigrayan academics has written to the UK Government's CDC Group PLC (CDC) raising concerns that inadequate steps have been taken to ensure £65 million telecoms investment is not used to fund serious human rights abuses in Ethiopia's armed conflict in the Tigray region.

Tigray: Time for the UN to Report on Attacks on Humanitarian Facilities and Personnel
Since the outbreak of war in Tigray in November 2020, the Government of Ethiopia and its coalition partners have persistently obstructed humanitarian aid, pillaged and destroyed medical infrastructure and services, and incited violence against humanitarian workers. These actions have been well documented and are clear violations of international humanitarian law (IHL). Yet, the United Nations Security Council has failed to invoke resolution 2286

Ethiopia's Tigray war spills into neighbouring regions
The "very limited action" targeted special forces and militia fighters from Oromia region, Ethiopia's largest, who were massing along the Tigray-Afar border. "We took those actions to ensure those forces are sent back to Oromia, and we have managed to do that," Getachew said, adding that there were some casualties but he could not provide figures..

The Tigray-Amhara Boundary Should be Resolved by Constitutional Means
The ethno-federalism arrangement of Ethiopia established in 1991 created new regions in Ethiopia to replace the previous administrative provinces. One of them is the Amhara Regional State, which is composed of parts of former geographical administrative regions of Begemeder (Gonder), Wollo, North Showa, and Gojjam. Its creation has taken the dominant ethnic Amharas into consideration.

From anxiety and sorrow to rest and relief!
Abiy Ichabod 07-18-21 - What could be more pleasing to the heart than the relief of the oppressed? This truth applies to all honest-hearted ones. God is always with the poor, the oppressed, the downtrodden, and the destitute. The atrocities committed against the people of Tigray during the past eight difficult months are horrific and mind-blowing.

Mr. Abiy's deceptive "Humanitarian Ceasefire" is officially over, now, before even being real.
Dr. Goitom Aregawi 07-18-21 - It is to be remembered that Ethiopia's government, after leaving Tigray by force of a bullet, said that it was "voluntarily withdrawing its army from Tigray" and was declaring a "Humanitarian ceasefire for the sake of the farmers in Tigray". These words might have deceived few unsuspecting individuals and parties inside the country and abroad, but people who closely followed Abiy's behavior, and the actions that followed won't.

    They Spoke Tigrinya.
Paulos Irgau. 07-17-21 - Right after the iconic artist Hachalu Hundessa was killed, the newly appointed Mayor of Fin-Finne said to reporters that the alleged assailants spoke Tigrinya. What she had in mind and meant to say was in fact, they spoke the language of the enemy. The language of the sworn enemy. The language of the blood enemy. And it was a foregone conclusion that the owners of the language had to be eliminated and the project to carry out the assault was set for November 4, 2020.

'Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel.' Samuel Johnson (1775)
Kalayu Abrha 07-17-21 - Samuel Johnson is a great British scholar of the 18th Century, who is a familiar figure in Ethiopia for his book "Raselas: The Prince of Abyssinia". The book was translated into Amharic by Sirak Hiruy. Although it was only at a certain political party level, unlike the government level in Ethiopia, what we are experiencing in Ethiopia most currently was also observed by Samuel Johnson in Britain two hundred fifty years ago.

Revisiting the Demands of Tigray for a Negotiated Ceasefire?
Haki Fanus 16.07.21 - The Tigray Government's first and foremost choice should always be to silence the guns and make peace with its arch enemies, so long as the minimum requirements are met by the offenders-such as ending the siege, arrests, murder, occupation and starving the people. A peaceful resolution of this dangerous human and security crisis would benefit all sides and humanity as it would stop further bloodshed, rescue millions of citizens from famine, restore law and order in the country

Ethiopia: End arbitrary detentions of Tigrayans, activists and journalists in Addis Ababa and reveal whereabouts of unaccounted detainees
(Amnesty International) - Police in Addis Ababa have arbitrarily arrested and detained dozens of Tigrayans without due process, following the recapture of the Tigray region's capital, Mekelle, by forces from the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) that also calls itself Tigray Defence Forces (TDF) on 28 June, Amnesty International said today.

Ethiopia: Tigray govt forces say they released 1,000 captured soldiers
OLBIA, Italy July 17 (Reuters) - Forces in Ethiopia's northern Tigray region have released around 1,000 government soldiers captured during recent fighting, the head of its ruling party said, as both sides prepared for a showdown over contested land in the west of the region.

Urgent Call to the Ethiopian Peoples, Elders and Religious Leaders, Political Parties, Civil Societies and Intellectuals
GSTS 07-16-21 - Eight months into the genocidal war on Tigray, the combined Ethiopian National Defense forces (ENDF), Eritrean Defense Forces (EDF), and the Amhara Region special forces and militia have committed heinous mass atrocities, and egregious crimes in different parts of Tigray in violation of international law. The crimes include ethnic cleansing, systematic sexual...

    Eritrea: The Perversion of Exports
Aynalem Sebhatu 07-14-21 - I would like to begin by stating that Eritreans were inspired by the brisk economic development of countries like Singapore and Hong-Kong when they started drafting economic policy for their newly independent country. They sought various ways to revive the war-torn economy and they mainly based their strategy on export-led development, none of which had succeeded.
