President Debretsion (PhD) Interview with Tigray TV- Aug 7, 2021

ሓመድ ሊሒስና/from zero/
When the TDF military commanders told us Tigrayans started with nothing to build a formidable fighting force, they were not joking. This picture tells it all! This lone female fighter would have died had it not been for the scant stored rainwater on the ground. Only Tigrayans can survive such calamity and win spectacularly on the battlefield.

Guna: Shaming the Experts
Starting with the so-called experts on Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa to the foot soldiers of Isaias Afeworki and Abiy Ahmed, TPLF was said to have been finished and dead. I remember Amb Cohen and some of the pseudo-journalists ill-advised analysis of the political landscape of Ethiopia right after TPLF left its government seat in Mekelle and the subsequent killing of our retired TPLF leaders.

What amazed me then and still now is how these analysts and experts failed to understand the strong relationship between TLPLF and the Tigrayan people. How could they not see that TPLF was not a typical political organization that withers away if any one of its leaders is killed, martyred, or retired? Shouldn't they have taken a lesson after Meles passed away or after its leaders split almost 50/50 some 20 years ago?

True TPLF leaders are unique, and their absence does affect its political standings - all be it temporary, but never does any of its leader's absence have affected the Tigrayan desire to be independent and self-governed. Aregawi Berhe was one of the founding leaders, yet his removal from power and his subsequent joining of the opposition camp did not deter the Tigrayans to wedge a magnificent military victory not once but twice. - ጉና ትመስክር፡ እንኻዕ ትግራዋይ ኮንኩ!!

EXPLAINER: Why Ethiopia's war crisis is deepening by the day
NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) - The United States says it is sending a special envoy to Ethiopia as the fast-moving conflict in the Tigray region has spread into neighboring regions and Ethiopia's government this week called on all able citizens to stop the resurgent Tigray forces.

Tigray Government Weekly Briefing- Aug 15, 2021
Tigray External Affair Office 8-15-21 - Briefing from Tigray government on the military and humanitarian situation in Tigray and Northern Ethiopia. The weekly briefing is prepared in lieu of the total blackout of communication in the region due to the Abiy regime blockade of Tigray and is meant to help the international community to become fully aware of developing issues.

A Ceasefire: Finger Pointing at the Victim is neither Just nor Acceptable!
Adi Haki 08-15-21 - Some elements of the international community are unjustly putting pressure on the people of Tigray and their army, the Tigray Defence Forces (TDF), to halt their military advancement and withdraw from the Amhara and Afar regions of Ethiopia. While their desire for peace and mitigating human suffering in Tigray and the rest of Ethiopia is understandable, pressuring the Tigray people to stop their legitimate fight ...

HARDtalk: Getachew Reda: What is the endgame for Tigray's rebels?
The humanitarian suffering in northern Ethiopia is appalling, as conflict continues on multiple fronts. Tigrayan rebel forces have won a string of victories over the Ethiopian military, and Ethiopia's prime minister now says all the state's military resources will be deployed to crush the rebels. Stephen Sackur speaks to Getachew Reda, spokesperson for the Tigray People's Liberation Front. With the death toll rising and man-made famine taking hold, what is the endgame for Tigray's?
This is a very timely and very important interview . The international community needs to be updated regularly. Failing to do so will allow lies and allegations take root. Kudos to Getachew for standing tall to the hard-hitting journalist. 'Ember Sanitizer!!!'

THOUSANDS WILL GATHER IN SEATTLE FOR A MULTI-CITY NATIONAL RALLY AGAINST THE ONGOING GENOCIDAL WAR ON TIGRAY, ETHIOPIA
SEATTLE, WA—Members and allies of the Tigrayan diaspora community across the United States will carry out a multi-city rally against the genocidal war on Tigray in Seattle on August 20th, 12PM at Westlake Park. Protesters will demand that the United States and the broader international community take action against the civilian atrocities, sexual violence, war crimes, ethnic cleansing, and looming famine that have plagued the Ethiopian state of Tigray..

How should the war terminate from the perspective of Tigray? Part Two
Kidane Abraham 08-14-21 - Military balance is about the immediate relative strength of the leading opponents and the potential to maintain it. Tigray Defense Force (TDF) of the Government of the regional state of Tigray have rooted out the ENDF and forced the Eritrean Defense Forces (EDF) to withdraw from most parts of Tigray. Except, the Tsegede-Wolkayet region of western Tigray, all places occupied by ENDF and Amhara forces have been liberated. TDF is marching towards ...

Positioning Post-War Tigray in the Horn of Africa!
Ermias Hailu / August 13, 2021-.The Persian religious leader Mani (who died in 274 AD) regarded the Axumite Empire as one of the four great powers of his time, alongside Persia (Iran), Rome and China. King Ezana's stone inscription from around 300 AD, still standing in Axum also confirms Mani's claim about the Axumite Empire.

An appeal to Eritrean and Tegaru refugees
Eyob Ghebreziabhier August 13, 2021-.An appeal to the Eritrean and Tegaru refugees, please, seems a duty to raise a new and secure future for the life and unity of our people by providing roadmaps for our steps. We are talking about a future in which the Abyssinian world only runs for a pleasant rule of law.

Danbush(Hailu) was my classmate and is the only son of his blind mother. He was a beloved Military leader(Tegadalay) during the 17 years of struggle. I was told that he was martyred at Guna near the current war theater during the last war of independence (seventeen years of struggle). Never did I imagine our people will be fighting the same fight again and lose another Danbush! It is surreal to think Guna as we speak is the center of yet another cut-throat battle to unset Derge2.0 that will consume another Tigrayan soul! Tigray forces have broken Demeke/Tefera's line of defense in Gaynt/Wereta front. Demeke and Gen Tefera are nowhere to be found even though they took a picture in the area two days ago. I can understand Demeke foshfash running away but the newly appointed Amhara chief of forces Gen Tefera running away from the heat is embarrassing....to me at least. In any case according to Getachew Reda, Tefera may have escaped for now but is unlikely he will escape the next time. [Zeru Hagos Aug 13, 2021]

Standing on the Bones of the Past: U.S. Foreign Policy and the Ethiopia Crisis
Elias Dawit 08-13-21 - During the summer of 1994, at least 800,000 Tutsis were slaughtered with machetes by their fellow Rwandans. The oft-repeated "never again" following the Nazi genocide against the Jewish people was a lie. Today, as the absence of a live audience at the Tokyo Olympics was regarded as a "tragedy," the Ethiopian government continues to inflict genocidal acts on the people of Tigray - a small region home to about six percent of Ethiopia's 110 million total population. Like in Rwanda, the campaign against the Tigrayan people began with hate speech...

Ethiopia: Troops and militia rape, abduct women and girls in Tigray conflict - new report
(Amnesty International) - Women and girls in Tigray were targeted for rape and other sexual violence by fighting forces aligned to the Ethiopian government, Amnesty International said today in a new report into the ongoing Tigray conflict. The report, 'I Don't Know If They Realized I Was A Person': Rape and Other Sexual Violence in the Conflict in Tigray, Ethiopia, reveals how women and girls were subjected to sexual violence by members of the Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF), the Eritrean Defense Force (EDF), the Amhara Regional Police Special Force (ASF), and Fano, an Amhara militia group.

Jeffrey Feltman, a veteran diplomat serving as US special envoy for the Horn of Africa, will visit Ethiopia on an August 15-24 trip that will also take him to Djibouti and the United Arab Emirates, the State Department said.

SJT 8-11-21 -.It is to be recalled that approximately 17, 000 members of the ENDF were rounded up and jailed because of their Tigrayan ethnicity prior to the government of Ethiopia launching its war on Tigray on November 4, 2020. Ethiopia armed group says it has alliance with Tigray forces
NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) - A militant leader in Ethiopia says his group has struck a military alliance with the Tigray forces now pressing toward the country' capital, as the conflict that erupted in the Tigray region last year spreads. "The only solution now is overthrowing this government militarily, speaking the language they want to be spoken to," Oromo Liberation Army leader Kumsa Diriba, also known as Jaal Marroo, .

Ethiopia[Abiy] urges citizens to join armed forces as conflict spreads

NAIROBI, Aug 10 (Reuters) - Ethiopia's government on Tuesday urged citizens to join the fight against resurgent Tigrayan forces now pushing beyond their own region in a nine-month-old war that has sparked a major refugee crisis.

The international community is making mistakes by babysitting this little dictator. Why is the international community waiting to see a huge influx of refugees on to the top of the developing famine situation in Tigray? The U.S alone can stop this senseless war of genocide if it wants to. Tigrayans have endured so much pain hoping against hope that the international community will play its role. It is really sad to see the international community failing them. Abiy and his foot soldiers have one option left-sign on the dotted line and save lives. Otherwise, it is ሓዝ ክ ሕዝ time meshreft!

Warning: Stop Criminal Act against Tigrayans!
Yiha Selomon 06.08.21 - Those who are involved in perpetrating, collaborating or condoning murder and other cruel offences against Tigrayans, including drowning human beings into the Tekeze river, targeting humanitarian agencies and violating the right to life and security of Tigrayan military officers and others through a kangaroo court martial proceedings must be forewarned that they will definitely be held accountable for their crimes as individuals.

My take on a Referendum in Tigray
Kalayu Abrha 08-06-21 - Referendum was never in the vocabulary of Tigray until the ill-advised invasion of Tigray, which unleashed the satanic forces of destruction on the peace loving and law-abiding people of Tigray. It does not mean there were no previous invasions of Tigray. They happened several times before although at comparatively lower scale. Every despot at Arat-Kilo had its share of brutality in Tigray as if the vows to leadership position in Ethiopia included...

Wake up World!
G. W. 5 August 2021 - The humanitarian crisis in Tigray - when will the international community stop commentating and take action? Today Chatham House, London is hosting Ethiopian government representatives, a shameful decision that it will surely regret Dear International Community, I wonder how much longer it will take you to realise that appeasing a tyrannical regime will not bring peace to Ethiopia.

Secret Agents, Threats, Fake News Target Ethiopia Regime's Critics in US
Pro-regime thugs are harassing Tigray exiles and critics of Ethiopia's 'genocide'... after several stressful weeks following his outspoken resignation as Ethiopia's number two diplomat in the U.S. Berhane Kidanemariam took a stroll around his quiet neighborhood in Bethesda, Md., a leafy but bustling suburb bordering on Washington, D.C. A car crept up alongside him on the sidewalk. A dark window slid down. One of the men inside, an Ethiopian he vaguely recognized, hailed him with an insulting epithet.
