Message to Baytona, Salsay Woyane, TIM, Digital Woyane and Tigrai Activists!
Learn from the failures of Ethiopian oppositions. Although there are over one hundred political organizations in Ethiopia none of them are worthy of a dime. If they were, one of them would have assumed power by now given how rotten EPRDF has become over the last 5 years! Tigrai does not need this many organizations to become a prosperous or sovereign nation. Sit down and discuss thoroughly among you. Come up with a plan and road-map to compete with TPLF. There aren't that many gray areas where multiple organization is needed. Either enhance the developmental state model and work with TPLF or come up with a new plan so the people have a choice. Otherwise do not embarrass us by mimicking the dysfunctional Ethiopian myriad political opposition culture. Grow up, call a conference of all, and discuss your differences and form a strong opposition party in Tigrai. Aigaforum Jan 2020

Yap, the US has done it. It seems it has delivered the desired outcome to Egypt. What is left is who among the Egyptians will operate the dam and determine the day to day activity. Wuredet!
Ethiopia sets tentative August date for elections ADDIS ABABA (Reuters) - Ethiopia proposes to hold its national vote on Aug. 16, the electoral board said on Wednesday
Although we are not sure why Birtukan choose this particular date since it is in the middle of the rainy season and a week where millions of Orthodox Christians fast and not to mention it is the week the much revered former PM Meles died, it is a start. Better late than never as they said. Birtukan or anyone working for this government will be remembered as the ones who destroyed Ethiopia if they fail to hold a free and fair election on time to save the country! Abiy and his hired adviser from abroad can not do it alone you all!
ELECTION THOUGHTS Yohannes Gebresellasie (Ph.d) Addis Ababa 01-15-20 - In any nation that claims to conduct free, fair and democratic national election, often times than not happens some discrepancies, fallouts and even fragrant irregularities that are regrettable. When such a situation happens, there are consequences some very grave and distractive that can bring chaos, anarchy, and lawlessness in a given nation and others a bit easier to correct.
Prosperity Party and the New Emerging Political Thinking on Ethnic Identity and Nation Building in Ethiopia Dr. Teshome Adugna 01-15-20 - Political party plays a pivotal role in the social and economic transformation of the given country and nationality. Parties are central to the functioning of representative democracy. Parties make democracy function by serving as intermediaries between the electorate and the state power (Gebremeskel Hailu and TeguaddaAlebachew, 2019). According to Michael Chege(2007) political parties are crucial actors in bringing together diverse interests, recruiting and presenting candidates and developing competing policy proposals that give people with a choice.
Ethiopia threatens to disintegrate amid creeping Balkanisation While Brits prepare for Brexit, in the Ethiopian lakeside city of Hawassa its residents have been grappling with similar concerns...A constant refrain among Hawassa residents and Ethiopians elsewhere is that political agitators - both homegrown and from the Ethiopian diaspora, returning after Abiy lifted bans on opposition groups - are generating and manipulating instability for their own ends.
Desert Locust situation update - 13 January 2020 Numerous and very large swarms pose an unprecedented threat to food security and livelihoods in Horn of Africa. In Ethiopia, immature swarms continue to form and move in the eastern regions of Harar (East Harerghe) and Somali (Jijjiga and Warder, Kebridehar, Gode in the Ogaden). Immature swarms are also present further south in Oromiya (Bale) and in the past days on the edge of the Rift Valley (Borena) near Teltele and Yabello. Some swarms have started to mature in the Gode area. More swarms are expected to appear in the southern parts of Oromiya and Somali regions and in the southwest region of SNNPR (South Omo) where they are likely to mature and lay eggs...
'Locust invasion' forced Ethiopian plane to divert An Ethiopian Airlines passenger plane was forced to abandon its landing in eastern Dire Dawa city after hitting into what appeared to be a swarm of locusts, an airline spokesman has confirmed to the BBC.The spokesman did not give further details Imagine how much damage the locust is incurring on the local economy! And yet, the Ethiopian government is silent about it. Last time the swarm locust was seen in Tigrai the youth and local governments were on top of it and the locust was killed or disbursed without causing damage.
Ethiopian PM Abiy expects parliamentary election in May or June CAPE TOWN (Reuters) - Ethiopia will hold a parliamentary election in May or June despite security and logistic concerns, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said on Sunday.
Someone needs to tell Abiy and Birtukan that postponing the coming election will be the end of Ethiopia as we know it. If that happens the Oromo elites will be fully responsible and history will remember them as such. We know for sure Tigrai is going it alone if the election does not happen on time! There is no room for negotiation on this, it is a principle stand for TPLF, the governing party in Tigrai! By now Abiy should know what 'principle' means to TPLF.
How Forced Labor in Eritrea Is Linked to E.U.-Funded Projects BRUSSELS - The European Union spent 20 million euros last year in Eritrea, hoping to help stem an exodus from the repressive African country, which is consistently one of its biggest sources of asylum seekers. The money, about $22 million, bought equipment and materials to build a road, a seemingly uncontroversial task. The catch?
Dear Aigaforum Admin: ON GERD Teame (From Addis Ababa, Jan 10, 2020) - Greetings from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I am a regular reader of articles posted on your website. I really appreciate your efforts to provide a forum for alternative views and contribute to informing the public about current realities in the country. The main stream media is wholly focused on building Abiy's image and his quest for publicity leaving aside all the critical issues the country faces at the moment.

Trump tells Toledo rally he 'saved' Ethiopia, laments he didn't get the Nobel Peace Prize for it "I'm going to tell you about the Nobel Peace Prize," President Trump said at his political rally in Toledo, Ohio, on Thursday evening. "I'll tell you about that. I made a deal, I saved a country, and I just heard that the head of that country is now getting the Nobel Peace Prize for saving the country. I said, 'what, did I have something do with it?' Yeah, but you know, that's the way it is.
President Trump upset Abiy not him got the Nobel for peace this year. Trump may have told the world what we knew all along already- that Abiy is in power now because of Trump. And what will Jawar/Qerro say about the Qerro revolution and his involvment.?
Egypt, Ethiopia, Sudan deadlocked over giant Nile dam, look to Washington talks ADDIS ABABA, Jan 9 (Reuters) - Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan remained deadlocked after two days of talks in their disputes over a giant hydropower dam on the Nile though Cairo said it hoped the issues would be resolved by Jan. 15 in line with a deadline agreed with Washington
We never thought this day will come. We thought Ethiopians no matter what political system they support will endure finishing this critical dam! We were wrong for sure! Today we are forced to plead with those closely working on this project as engineers, managers and as promoters to come clean and inform the public on what is going on with this project. We ask any TPLF member working on this project in any capacity to come clean. No one should be an accomplice to the Abiy government's sinister plan to derail this project hiding behind a superpower pressure. The US will undoubtedly side with Egypt and force Ethiopia either to kill the project or diminish its purpose. Aigaforum Jan 9,2020
Wufer Tebeges Aesop 01/07/2020 - At last, Wufer Tebeges sounded loud! The path is clear now. What the Tigrean people have been waiting for has manifested. Tigreans are not strangers to humiliation. The ostracization, the imprisonment, the torture, the killing, and the bombing: they been through it all! It suffices to read, the outsider yet the preeminent geopolitical thinker, Kaplan's book: Surrender or Starve! There's also Fire from the Ashes", John Young's, Paul Henze's books, etc. etc.

America's Ethiopia Problem Elias Dawit 01-05-20 - The 2020 Ethiopian election is looming ahead of us under a cloud of uncertainty and confusion. There seems to be a general consensus among internal and external political actors that the election must take place, but this consensus is tainted by a nagging premonition that the election might represent a propitious event in Ethiopia's future. Will the 2020 election be the tipping point for state collapse?
TPLF at 45!!
As we celebrate the 45th anniversary of the TPLF let us remember our martyrs and the noble idea they died for. They died fighting tooth to nail the brutal regime of Col Mengistu Hailemariam and the system that denied nation and nationalities their god-given right. ...More
