Update – Back to Normal Sep 03, 2016 After a tumultuous weeks life in the Amhara region is returning slowly to normal. Officials are touring to discuss with the people. The thugs who were masquerading as agents of ‘democratic forces’ were naked to the bone to be seen by the people for who they are when they burn public institutions, service rendering buildings and private business companies before the military took control. The military at the invitation of regional government is helping in apprehending those responsible for the mayhem. We were told those captured are sharing detailed information with authorities. The information they gave so far is helping to quickly bring law and order to many cities and towns. Meantime, our reliable source, told us many of Ethiopia’s allies from the western nations are encouraged by the latest development to bring law and order. Most of them are well informed that extremists and Ethiopia’s foreign government foes are indeed behind the recent disturbance. Many of them have encouraged the Ethiopian government to take extra precaution Also in the news the federal government of Ethiopia may introduce legislation to make Oromiffa as official language besides Amharic in Addis Ababa. This is in line with the special status of Addis Ababa as a region and its significance to Oromia region.
