Ambassador Dr. Yeshimebrat Mersha Kassa presented credential to South African president


July12, 2011- Ambassador Dr. Yeshimebrat Mersha presented her letter of credentials to H.E. Mr. Jacob G. Zuma the President of South Africa, on 12 July, 2011.

On the occasion, H. E President Jacob Zuma said the two countries have enjoyed long lived political and historical ties. The support of our Ethiopian brothers and sister during the Apartid struggle in training the freedom fighters never vanish from each South African mind. These joint efforts and historical ties of the two sisterly countries will continue and be deepened in the coming years by working together on continental as well as global political, economical as well as social and cultural issues .

Ambassador Dr. Yeshimebrat Mersha on her part lauded that our country and government wish to maintain and enhance the very cordial and friendly relations that currently exist between the two countries and peoples in all areas of cooperation. Ethiopia gives special attention to the relation with South Africa to increase bilateral trade, promote industrial development and enhance investment, tourism, Socio-economic transformation and good governance.

I would like to give you my government assurances of sustained collaboration with you in the above issues as well as other concerns. Ambassador concluded her remarks by stating, ďAs the Ambassador of Ethiopia to the republic of South Africa, I commit to devote myself to enhance the very special historical ties , diplomatic cooperation and relationship with more stability, strength and to further deepen mutual trust and respect between our two countries. She expressed her confidence that the support of the South African government will enable her to discharge her duties and responsibilities fruitfully.
