H.E. Dr. Tekeda meets with the Ethiopian Community in New York

H.E. Dr. Tekeda Alemu, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Representative of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the United Nations, met with members of the Ethiopian Community in New York .
The meeting was held at the office of the Permanent Mission, on Friday, January 28, 2011. H.E. Dr. Tekeda Alemu thanked members of the Ethiopian community in New York for attending the meeting and expressed his interest to work closely with the community in promoting Ethiopia’s national interests. H.E. Ambassador Tekeda also indicated that the government has launched an ambitious five-year Growth and Transformation Plan, which aims at eradicating poverty by enhancing Ethiopia’s economic performance. He further stressed that the implementation of this plan calls for the active participation of all citizens and persons of Ethiopian origin.
Members of the Ethiopian community expressed their readiness to work with the mission in close co-operation in all issues of common interests.
