Election 2010 by all indication is going to be as popular if not more as election 2005 was. As we all know a spectacular peaceful election 2005 was tarnished by events that followed after the election. Ethiopians are hoping lessons were learned both by the government and the oppositions no to repeat past mistakes. The recently signed code of conduct by most oppositions and the EPRDF is a good sign that indeed lessons have been learned.
But in Ethiopia political groups are born every election and the learning curve is always there with all new comers. The latest new comers are ARENA, UDJ and MEDREK. ARENA’s constituents are mainly Tigreans, it is a regional player. UDJ is a national player and claims its constituents will be allover the country. UDJ has nominated an ex-EPRDF to represent its ideal and stand for election in Qola Tembien.
UDJ through its nominee is already claiming foul play if its nominee does not win! Remember Eng Hailu election night claim that Addis Ababa election was rigged!
Qola Tembien is in Tigrai where ARENA is expected to contest TPLF another regional player. TPLF as we all know is the governing party in Tigrai and will contest every regional and federal seats. But will ARENA contest every seat? Will it contest Qola Tembien seat against UDJ? Aite Gebru in his recent interview with Merhawit Radio said the link between UDJ and ARENA is a very thin thread. He said MEDREK a coalition between ARENA and UDJ as well as others was formed with a minimum requirement. Many think that minimum requirement is hate against EPRDF but what ever it is it is not a link strong enough to pull UDJ strong man Siye to join ARENA. Siye joined UDJ shunning ARENA!
ARENA and UDJ do not see eye to eye when it comes to article 39 and land ownership and many critical pillars of the constitution of Ethiopia. Or do they!
The question is will ARENA forfeit its potential seat in Qola Tembien for expediency and dishearten its supporters? The lesson from election 2005 is that quick fix coalition do not last much and when push comes to shove and split rears its head, much like EDP/AEUP/Kestedemena, every organization will claim its seat for itself.
Also, elections are suppose to be about ideas and not personalities in Ethiopia. And, as we all know UDJ and ARENA’s idea’s are not the same. Unless ARENA thinks it is okay to use UDJ personalities regardless of their views and ideals as long as they help defeat EPRDF they must not forfeit any seat to UDJ or any one else. If they do then it all makes sense why many people think to this day TPLF split was not about ideas and policies but all about power!

Are you really worried about “ARENA” and “UJD” competing for the same parliamentary sit? Why don’t you just leave this decision for them? Afterall, they have shown that they are fast learners and smart politicians.
You seems to be overly worried by the respect and trust these former TPLF leaders won among 80 million Ethiopians. Don’t worry much. The sky will not fall if Gebru or Siye win in Tirai. Look around, America elected a black president and the sky didn’t fall. Just respect democracy and move on!

I have three points in addition what i have said so far.
1. Stop your divide and rule policies. I have a reason why i am saying this. You are trying to split Temben as qola and dog’a. This strategy will not work. Therefore let me remind you what Tigray looks like.
Raya, Enderta, Temben, Kile awla’elo, Agame, Adwa, Axum and Shire. That is all.
So, Siye is running for Temben. Period.
2. Siye and Gebru are known for their quality of keeping their promises so far. We take their word for granted and practically they will do it what they are now saying it.
So, We know why Aiga starts to cry.
3. The coming ”election” will be the first one specially in Tigray. Since the people of Tigray has paid many prices for its right we expect this election will be fair and free at least to give respect for the struggle.
So, This will be the final chance to test TPLF.

The recent historical speech made by Ato Siye Abraha of Tembien on ETV revealed two important things in relation to the former top TPLF members when Siye was a member and the personality of Siye himself after he left TPLF. In regard to the first point, the speech he made simply reflected the level of political knowledge and critical thinking top TPLF members possessed. I have persuaded myself that when one inspects the majority of the top TPLF members, they are really vacuum incapable of thinking critically about politics and lacked public decency. In regard to the second point, the speech he made crystallized the capacity he has developed since he left TPLF. In the present day Ethiopia under the rule of EPRDF, there are many public issues if properly addressed can win the heart of the Ethiopian and Tigrian public in the next election. Instead of having a diehard stand, Siye could have addressed and spoke about such important issues as justice, the protection of incapable and corrupt leaders, and the ever shrinking domain of democracy in Tigrai and Ethiopia.

I thought this guy (Seye) was a real General of the TPLF. I still have that respect for him. As things were not very clear when he was in prison, I had some positve feeling, as well. But he has proved that he is a mess, after he was released from prison. I wish he stayed far away from politics, like Tewolde, Alemseged, Tsadkan and Jamaica. He could have hold the real respect from the people of Tigray.
But I don’t mean the remaining TPLF leadership are doing very well. I had deep respect to the beginers of the staruggle. But now my respect is to those who passed in the field.
None in the opposition except EDP believe that the democratic rights they are given to enjoy should be used for the benefit of the people. They didn’t believe that in 2005 and they will not act accordingly in 2010. They want only to deceive the ruling party and use the people to come to power – no other agenda. There is only one thing they want to come to power for. It is to stop the ongoing economic and democratic development in the country and reinstate feudal order by turning the country into a killing field and a big prison as it has been during the time of Derg. No peace and progress loving Ethiopian shoud doubt that.

My opinion is that I am ver grateful to see such democratic culture growing in Ethiopia and in Tigray. Thanks to those brothers and sisters who brought this change: to all current EPRDF memebers and those who left the party but in one way or another (including Siye, Gebru, Aregash, etc). It is normal that people could change their ideas in the process. But what we need is a peaceful struggle: convince people and then accept the decision even if diffcult to swallow! In my view I thank all sides for their contributions to the current developments in the country!!
It doesn’t give me as such positive sense the recent speeches of the members of “UDJ” but don’t forget that these guys have played incalculable role in struggling and decomposing the butcher government of Mengstu Hailemariam who is indeed responsible for the “WAR ECONOMY” nature of the Ethiopian economy for seventeen years. It is not always good to focus on criticisms but we should have also the habit of talking about the virtue of Siye and Siye likes. From their recent speeches on the Ethiopian television; yes, I am very doubtful whether they are really politicians or not! But; indeed, I know that they are hero! That’s all!

Flattery of some ex-TPLF members and overexpectation of the few new “comrade in tounges” in UDJ are may be combined to produce the delusioned sense of grandeur of Siye. He has to learn a lot from the humble Gebru Asrat and Aregash if he is to continue as an important element in the democratization of the country: By the way I still remember the time he said ” Kab Asmera zbareru zelewu Akalb Tegaru Tiray iyom” 1992.
Well, I think this up coming election will be different than what we had seen 5 years a go and beyond. Let the other parties compete the current EPRDF,leading government if they are capable enough to provide stable and better government than EPRDF. Computation is the best medication for bringing democracy.

I don’t care wither Siye’s speech was well formatted or not. But I don’t also think that he did this for nothing. He must have a good reason to come with a such hard speech. As you know though the coming election is approaching the political discussions were not there and every thing was going calm. I think he might want to get some attention from ETV then break the silence. If we see critically he is not talking about him self or Temben. Otherwise no one can doubt about his capability of making attractive and soft speech. Definitely, I can see people are talking here and there seriously about the election as whole. I think he did it.
አንድ ማታ ጓደኛዬ ስልክ ደወለና “ስዬ ያለውን ሰማህ?” አለኝ በተገረመ መንፈስ፡፡ “ምን አለ፣ ቴሌቪዥን አላየሁም” አልኩ በቴሌቪዥን እንደተላለፈ በመገመት፡፡
ግምቴ ልክ ነበር፤ በቴሌቪዥን ነው የተመለከተው፡፡ “እንዴ፣ እኔ በተምቤን ካላሸነፍኩ ገብሩ በመቀሌ ካላሸነፈ ምርጫው ተጭበርብሯል ማለት ነው” አለ አለኝ፡፡ ጓደኛዬ ይህንን ሲል ባለፈው 97 ምርጫ ግንቦት 7 ጥቂት ሳምንታት ሲቀሩት ቅንጅት ከኢህአዴግ ጋር ሲከራከር አሁን በውሉ ቀኑን በማላስታውሰው ከድርጅቱ አመራሮች አንዱ የነበሩት ዶ/ር ብርሃኑ ነጋ “ቅንጅት ምርጫውን ያሸንፋል፣ ተሸንፏል ከተባለ ግን ምርጫው የተጭበረበረ መሆን አለበት” ማለታቸውን አስታወሰኝ፡፡ ይህንን ዓይነት አባባሎች አንዳንድ የግል ጋዜጦችም ሲያራግቡት ነበር፡፡ ዶክተሩ “ምርጫው ተጭበርብሯል ማለት ነው” በማለት ብቻ አላቆሙም ነበር፡፡ “ተሸንፋችኋል ከተባልን ተጭበርብሯል ማለት ነው፡፡ ሕዝቡ ይህንን አውቆ ድምፁን በኃይል ማስመለስ አለበት” አንዳንዶች የአሁኑ የአቶ ስዬ ንግግር ከዚህ ጋር ሲያያይዙት ሌሎች ግን ምንም ክፋት የለውም በማለት ይከራከራሉ፡፡
ከትናንት ወዲያ አንድ መዝናኛ ቦታ በግላችን ጉዳይ ለመምከር የተሰበሰብን 6 ሰዎች (እኔም ነበርኩበት) በጭራሽ ወደ መጣንበት ጉዳይ መግባት አልቻልንም፡፡ ይህ፣ የስዬ ንግግር ሰሞኑን በየቦታው እንደሚነሳ ሁሉ፣ እዚህም ስብስብ መሀል በአጋጣሚ ተነሳ እና ከነበርነው ውስጥ ሁለቱ ክርክር ገጠሙ፡፡ አንደኛው የአቶ ስዬ ንግግር፣ አነጋጋሪና ቀልብ የሚስብ ቢሆንም፣ አዲስ አይደለም፡፡ ይሄ ቅንጅትም ከምርጫ በፊት ሲለው የነበረ ነው፡፡ በመሠረቱ እንደ ስዬ ንግግር ከሆነ የምርጫው ውጤት ቀድሞ ታውቋል፡፡ ወደ ምርጫ መሄድ ጊዜና ሃብት ማባከን ነው ይላል፡፡ አባባሉ በአካባቢው ህዝብ ተቀባይነት የሌለውና ያልተለመደ እንደሆነ ገልፆ፣ “እንደውም አያሸንፍም” አለ በቁጭት፡፡ ሌላኛው፣ ጣልቃ ገባና ይሄ ንግግር ምንም አይደለም፡፡ ማንኛውም ተፎካካሪ ለውድድር የሚገባው አሸንፋለሁ ብሎ ነው፣ ምኑ ላይ ነው ነውር የሚሆነው አለ፡፡ በእርግጥም “ህወሓት አቶ ስዬን እና አቶ ገብሩን ሊያሸንፉ የሚችሉ ተወዳዳሪዎች ማቅረብ አይችልም” በማለት በተምቤን አቶ ስዬን ይፎካከራሉ ተብለው የተገመቱ ግለሰብ ማንነትንም መዘርዘር ጀመረ፡፡ ሁሉም የራሳቸው የፖለቲካ አመለካከት እንዳላቸው ያስታውቃሉ፡፡ ሲጨቃጨቁ አንዱ ሌላውን ለማሳመን ያላነሳው የሥነ ልቦናና የፖለቲካ ምሳሌ የለም፡፡ ሌላ ጓደኛችን በመጪው ምርጫ ለፓርላማ ተወዳዳሪ የሆነ ደግሞ፣ “ንግግሩ የተወሰነ አካባቢ የሚመለከት በመሆኑ ነውር የለውም” በማለት የአቶ ስዬ ንግግር ግን አደገኛነት እንዳለው ይገልፃል፡፡ “እንዲህ ዓይነት የፖለቲካ ቅስቀሳ ውጤቱ የሚያምር አይሆንም፡፡ ደጋፊ ለማሰባሰብና ለማነሳሳት ግን ምርጥ አነጋገር እና የተዋጣለት ነው” ይላል፡፡ ነገር ግን ዓመፅ ያነሳሳ ይሆናል የሚል ስጋቱን በመግለፅ አስታራቂ ሃሳብ አቀረበ፡፡
ክርክሩ ጦዟል፡፡ እንደውም፣ አንደኛው ጓደኛችን “ስዬ እንዲህ ቢል ምን ክፋት አለው?” በማለት አስተያየት መስጠቱን ይጀምራል፡፡ ሌሎቻችን፣ ጓደኛችን ምን የተለየ ነገር እንደሚናገር ለመስማት ፀጥ ብለናል፡፡ ጉዳዩን የተመከተው አባባሉን በመያዝ ብቻ አይደለም፡፡ “ትግራይ ውስጥ እስከአሁን ምርጫ ተካሂዷል ማለት አይቻልም፡፡ ምንም ዓይነት ተፎካካሪ በሌለበት ህዝቡ ወጥቶ እንዲመርጥ እየተገደደ ነበር፡፡ ሌሎቹ ተቋዋሚዎች ደግሞ የተለያየ ስም እተለጠፈባቸው፣ ራሳቸውም ሕዝቡን እያገለሉት ቆይተዋል፡፡ የአቶ ስዬ ንግግር ይህንን ዝምታ የሚሰብር ሰለሆነ እኔ አርክቶኛል፡፡” “በነገራችን ላይ” ይላል፣ “በትግራይ ሕዝብ ልብ ውስጥ እንደ አቶ ስዬ ሰፊ ቦታ የሚይዝ ሰው አለ ብዬ አላምንም፡፡ ታዲያ እንዲህ ዓይነት “የገዘፈ ስብዕና ያላቸውን ሰው የሚያሸንፍ ህወሓት ማንን ማቅረብ ይችላል?” በማለት አስተያየቱን በጥያቄ አጠናቀቀ፡፡ ለሌላ ዕድል ከመስጠቱ በፊት ግን “በነገራችን ላይ ትግራይ ውስጥ ያለው የማያፈናፍን የፖለቲካ ሁኔታ እና “ሞኖፓርቲዝም” የሚሰበረው በእንደዚህ ዓይነት ድፍረት የተሞላበት አስደናቂ ንግግር ነው” ይላል፡፡ ክርክሩ ቀጥሏል፡፡ እኔ ከማድመጥ ውጪ ምንም አስተያየት ሳልሰጥ፣ መደማመጥ ጠፍቶ ተከራካሪዎቹ በየፊናቸው ተለያይተዋል፡፡ ይህንን ወደ ጋዜጣ አመጣሁ እንጂ በሄድኩበት ሁሉ የሚወራው ግን እንዲሁ ተመሳሳይ ነው፡፡
አቶ ስዬ ይህንን ለማለታቸው ምክንያት ሲያቀርቡ፣ አንደኛው በትግራይ ሕዝብ ውስጥ ያላቸው ከፍተኛ ተቀባይነት ለመግለፅ፣ ሁለተኛው አሁን በምርጫ ሂደቱ በፓርቲያቸውና በራሳቸው ላይ እየተፈፀመ ያለው እንግልትና ክትትልን ለመንቀፍ እንደሆነ ይናገራሉ፡፡ “አሁንም እውነት እንነጋገር ከተባለ፣ ሕዝቡን በአካል አይቼዋለሁ፡፡ ያለበት ችግርና ጭቆና ከፍተኛ ነው፡፡ ይህንን ተገንዝቤያለሁ፡፡ ህወሓት እኔን ሊያሸንፍ የሚችል ሰው ማቅረብ አይችልም ካላጭበረበረ በስተቀር” ይላሉ፡፡
የኤዴፓ ሊቀመንበር አቶ ልደቱ በበኩላቸው “አባባሉ ትክክል አይደለም፡፡ ችግር የሚፈጥር ግን አይደለም፡፡ አንድ ሰው ከተሸነፍኩኝ ሂደቱ ትክክል አይደለም ስለአለ ይህንን የሚከተል ኅብረተሰብ አለ ብዬ አላምንም፡፡ ዋናው ደግሞ ህዝቡ ነው” በማለት አባባሉ ትክክል ባይሆንም ችግር ያስከትላል የሚል እምነት እንደሌላቸው ያስረዳሉ፡፡ “ማሸነፍም መሸነፍም የሚወሰነው በህዝቡ ምርጫ እንጂ በእኛ ምርጫ አይደለም፣ እኛ ሂደቱን ማሳመር ነው የሚጠበቅብን” ብለዋል፡፡
የአንድነት ለዴሞክራሲና ለፍትህ ፓርቲ አመራር አባል የሆኑት አቶ ስዬ አራተኛው አገራዊ ምርጫ ከ35 ዓመት በፊት በአፄው ሥርዓት ከነበረው ምርጫ ያነሰ ነው ሲሉም አጣጥለውታል፡፡
አንድነት ለዴሞክራሲ ለፍትህ ባለፈው ሐሙስ በጽ/ቤቱ ጋዜጣዊ መግለጫ በሰጠበት ወቅት አቶ ስዬ ኢሕአዴግ እሳቸውን ሊያሸንፍ የሚችል ተወዳዳሪ በትግራይ ማቅረብ እንደማይችልም ሲገልፁ “ኢሕአዴግ በምንም ተአምር እኔን ሊያሸንፍ የሚችል ተወዳዳሪ ሊያመጣ እንደማይችል አውቃለሁ፡፡ ገብሩን በመቀሌ ሊያሸንፍ የሚችል ተወዳዳሪ ማቅረብ እንደማይችልም አውቃለሁ፡፡
እንኳን መቀሌንና ተምቤንን ይቅርና በሌላም የትግራይ ወረዳዎች ሄጄ ህውሓት እኔን ሊያሸንፍ የሚችል ተወዳዳሪ ሊያመጣ እንደማይችል አውቃለሁ፡፡ ስዬ ተሸንፏል ካሉ ለመስረቃቸው ትልቅ ማረጋገጫ ነው” ብለዋል፡፡
የኢሕአዴግ የሕዝብ ግንኙነት ኃላፊ አቶ ሴኩቱሬ ጌታቸው ለኢትዮጵያ ሬዲዮና ቴሌቪዥን በስልክ ምላሽ ሰጥተዋል፡፡ መድረክ ሥነምግባር ደንቡን ሳይፈርም መቆየቱን ከዚህ ጋር ንግግር አያይዘው፣ “ሕዝቡ ከወዲሁ በሒደቱ ላይ ጥርጣሬ እንዲኖረው ለማድረግና ብጥብጥ ለመፍጠር የሚደረግ ጥረት ነው፡፡ እነዚህ ሀይሎች ከሻዕቢያ ጀምሮ እስከ ግንቦት ሰባት ሰፊ ኔትወርክ ፈጥረው አብረው የሚሰሩ ናቸው፡፡ የአንድነት መግለጫ የዚህ እስትራቴጂ አንድ አካል ነው” ብለዋል፡፡ አቶ ስዬ የአሁኑ ምርጫ ከፊውዳል ዘመን ሥርዓት ጋር ማመሳሰላቸውንም ሲነቅፉ “አቶ ስዬ ያንን የፊውዳል ዘመን ከናፈቁ እንግዲህ ያው አመለካከታቸው 35 ዓመት ወደ ኋላ የቀረ እንደሆነ ከማመላከት በስተቀር ሌላ ትርጉም አይሰጠውም” ብለዋል፡፡
የመድረክ የህዝብ ግንኙት ኃላፊና የዓረና ትግራይ ሊቀመንበር አቶ ገብሩ አሥራት፣ የአቶ ስዬ አባባል ለብቻው ተነጥሎ መታየት የለበትም ይላሉ፡፡ “ስዬ ሁለት ነገሮችን ነው ለማለት የፈለገው፡፡ አንደኛው ምርጫው ፍትሀዊ በሆነ መንገድ እየተካሄደ አይደለም የሚል ነው፡፡ ይሄውም፣ የተካሄዱ የምርጫ አስፈፃሚ ምርጫዎች ኢህአዴግ ብቻውን ያካሄዳቸው ናቸው፡፡ ሁለተኛው የታዛቢዎች ምርጫ እንዲሁ በብቸኝነት የተደረገ ነው፡፡ እና ይሄው ነገር ምርጫውን ፍትሃዊ ሊያደርገው አይችልም” የሚል ሲሆን በሁለተኛ መንገድ ህዝቡ ነፃነት ይገባዋል የሚል ነው፡፡
ስዬ “ፖሊሶች ባረፍኩበት ሁሉ ህዝቡን ያስፈራራሉ” ያለበትን “ኮንቴክስት” መረዳት ያስፈልጋል ይላሉ ገብሩ፡፡ “እንግዲህ የግድ መመረጥ አለብኝ ከሆነማ ምርጫ የሚባል ነገር መኖር አልነበረበትም” በማለት ንግግሩ ሳይቆረጥ ምን ለማለት እንደተፈለገና አቶ ስዬ ከምን ተነስተው እንዲህ እንደተናገሩ መመልከት እንደሚያስፈልግ ይገልፃሉ፡፡ እንደ አቶ ገብሩ አባባል፤ ለማስተላለፍ የተፈለገው ዋነኛ ጉዳይ “ከኢህአዴግ የተሻለ የፖለቲካ ፕሮግራም ይዘን ቀርበናል፡፡ ኢህአዴግ ድሮ የነበረበትንና የተሸነፈበትን ፖሊሲ ነው ይዞ የቀረበው፡፡ በ97 ምርጫ የተሸነፈባቸውን ፓሊሲዎች እያራመደ ነው ያለው እና ዳግም ሽንፈት ነው የሚጠብቀው” ለማለት ስለሆነ፣ አጠቃላይ ሁኔታው መታየት እንዳለበት በማሳሰብ ከኢህአዴግ የተሰጠውን ምላሽ ነቅፈዋል፡፡ “ከአመፅና ከሻዕቢያ ጋር የሚያያዝ ነገር ምንም የለውም” ብለዋል፡፡
ገብሩን በመቀሌ እኔ በተምቤን ሊያሸንፍ የሚችል ተወዳዳሪ ህወሓት ሊያቀርብ አይችልም ያሉበት ምክንያት ምንድን ነው?
የትግራይ ህዝብ እንደ ታጋይም እንደ ፖለቲከኛም ጥሩ አድርጎ የሚያውቀኝ ህዝብ ነው፡፡ በትግልም በፖለቲካም በረዥም ጊዜ የቆየሁ ሰው ነኝ፡፡ ገብሩ ደግሞ በትግል ላይ ለረዥም ጊዜ የቆየ፣ የትግራይ ህዝብ ጥሩ አድርጎ የሚያውቀው ሰው ነው፡፡ ሁለታችን አዳዲስ ሰዎች አይደለንም፡፡ ረዥም የትግል ታሪክ ያለን ሰዎች ነን ማለት ነው፡፡ ይህ ደግሞ በፖለቲካዊ ትግል ውስጥ ከፍተኛ ቦታ እንዳለው ይታወቃል፡፡ ይኼኛው አንደኛው ምክንያት ነው፡፡
ሁለተኛ፣ በትግራይ ህዝብ ውስጥ ያለው የአስተዳደሩ ተቀባይነት እጅግ ዝቅተኛ መሆኑን ተገንዝቤያለሁ፡፡ የትግራይ ህዝብ ብዙ ጊዜ ነገሮች እንዲስተካከሉ ሲጠይቅ ኖሯል፡፡ ምንድነው የምትፈልገው ብለው ሰብስበው ግምገማ አድርገው፣ ያሉት ችግሮች እንዲስተካከሉ ተናግሮ ሲያበቃ በርካታ ቃል ገብተውለት ነበር፡፡ ሆኖም የገቡትን ቃል ሲያከብሩ አላየንም፡፡ ስለሆነ አማራጭ ይፈልጋል፡፡ አማራጭ እንደሚፈልግ ደግሞ ተረድቼያለሁ፡፡ እኛ አማራጭ ይዘን ቀርበናል፡፡ አማራጭ ይዘን የቀረብነው ሰዎች ደግሞ በትጥቅ ትግሉ ረዥም ታሪክ ያለን ሰዎች ነን፡፡ ስለዚህ ይህንን ግምት ውስጥ አስገብቼ፣ ሕወሓት ውስጥ ያለው ሁኔታ እና ጥቅም ስመለከት ትግራይ ውስጥ እኛን ሊያሸንፍ የሚችል ተወዳዳሪ ሊያቀርብ አይችልም ማለት እውነት መናገር ነው፡፡
እውነት መናገር ደግሞ የሚያስኮርፍና ቅራኔ የሚያሳድር ነገር አይደለም፡፡ ስለዚህ በዚህ መቆጣት የለባቸውም፡፡ እውነት መናገር አያስቆጣም፡፡
ምርጫ ከመካሄዱ በፊት፣ “ከተሸነፍኩኝ ምርጫው ተጭበርብሯል” ማለት አግባብነት አለው?
አንደኛው እውነታ ይኼው ነው፡፡ ሁለተኛው ደግሞ እኔ በቅርቡ ትግራይ ውስጥ በተምቤን ተንቀሳቅሼያለሁ፡፡ የምርጫው አስተዳደር በሙሉ በእጃቸው (በኢህአዴግ) ነው ያለው፡፡ እንዲሁም ደግሞ ትግራይ ሄጄ ስንቀሳቀስ (ስብሰባ አልጠራሁም) ከሰው ጋር እንዳልገናኝ ፖሊሶች ከጀርባዬ እየተከተሉ ህዝብ ሲያስበረግጉ ነበር፡፡ ስለዚህ እኔ መጥቼያለሁ፡፡ ይህን ያህል ፈርታችኋል፡፡ ያስፈራችሁ ደግሞ እኔ ታዋቂ በመሆኔ፣ እኔ ከፍተኛ ተጽዕኖ መፍጠር እንደምችልና የመመረጥ ዕድሌ ትልቅ መሆኑን ስላወቃችሁ ነው፡፡ አስተዳደሩ በእጃችሁ እንዳለ አውቃለሁ፡፡ ግን ደግሞ በአሁኑ ወቅት ህወሓት እኔን ሊያሸንፍ የሚችል ሰው እንደሌላችሁ ግልጽ ነው፡፡ ስለዚህ ምርጫውን ካላበላሻችሁት እኔ እንደምመረጥ ምንም ጥርጥር የለኝም ለማለት ነው፡፡ ስለዚህ ያልኩት እውነት ላይ የተመሰረተ ነው፡፡ ይህንን ያልኩት ደግሞ፣ ምርጫውና አስተዳደሩ ነፃ እና ገለልተኛ እንዲሆን ነው የምፈልገው፣ ሁሉንም በእኩልነት በሚያስተናግድ ሜዳ ላይ ሆነን ከተወዳደርን እንደማሸንፍ አውቃለሁ እያልኩኝ ነው፡፡ ግን ያ ዓይነት ሜዳ እየፈጠራችሁ አይደለም፡፡ የትውልድ ቦታዬ ትግራይ ሄጄ ለመንቀሳቀስ፣ ሰው ሰላም ለማለት ችግር ፈጥራችሁብናል ነው እያልኩ ያለሁት፡፡ ይሄ ይታረም ነው ጥያቄዬ፡፡

I am not clear with the reason why people harry to criticize. I want to emphasize that criticisms are always there whether knowingly or unknowingly. But, please while we criticize, we should not also forget of forwarding appreciations to important personalities. Great thanks for all of our brothers and sisters who passed away and for the hero that we currently have for their significant contributions in achieving the already obtained democracy. Aiga!!! CRYING AGAIN, I can understand why you guys doing this unfair treatment to the HERO SIYE and other former TPLF members. In my firm believe, Siye has fought for a quarter of century for the people of Tigray.
If aiga or present TPLF leadership trying to belittle Siye Abraha, the people of Tigray are smart enough to know who were or are the leadership caught betraying Tigray / Ethiopia. I don’t believe that aiga does not know the real traitor/traitors. Leave Siye and others until the dust settles. Aiga the almighty God may help you to come to your sense.

Hi guys, Siye and Gebru were one of the powerful members of TPLF.they had been in position adminstering the state of tigrai and Ethiopia. but they produced nothing to this country when they were in position. so, what is their core goal running for the seat; except dividing the state and/or the country disseminating fruitless and incredible messages to these respected and decent people of Ethiopia. stop! stay cool. let them lead for the leaders correcting their mistakes.
They produced nothing????????????? How do you measure production? Have you conducted a research? Can you tell me please the total amount of production produced before and after them? If you can successfully convince me, I will be so surprised with the reason why these guys administered us for a number of years while it is possible to advice and ultimately fire inefficient ones! What did Medrek so far produce? Onle bedeviling the EPRDF time and again. This sound familiar. EPRP is a living symbol to that: bedevil, get violent, try coupdetat and grab power. It left an ugly scar in ethiopian political history. Then came the UDJ big time, negede gobeze, ex-dergists, friends of that still surviving king of evil and devil, mengistu hailemariam. These politicians are brave and blatant to their political point; Ethiopianism Minilk’s style. If you are wolayita: tough luck you just take it or leave it. seye, gebru or negassoe are in there. It makes things comically weird, too absurd to understand. May be medrek is there for its own sake. may be it has every right to be there in a democracy. I strongly agree with Aite Siye, TPLF can’t present a candidate who can compute Siye and Gebru not only in Temben and Mekelle but any where in Tigray. I have elected two of the first elections in Tigray. I always wonder with the candidates of TPLF, some are priests(I respect priests for they are our religious fathers) , some elementary school teachers and even some of the candidates were not known by the people. It is these priests which we always see them sleeping in the parliamentary whole.
SO where is the new thing behind the speech of Aite Siye. TPLF has a played the last three games alone. But today is another day. Things have changed. TPLF will never celebrate its 36th Yekatit being in side Dejen office of Mekelle. It’s timeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Over!!!!!!!!!
Gebru is one of our best man. He did incredible effort during the time he was serving as administrator of Tigray. He started his job from scratch establishing new structure and reconstructing the region that has nothing except spirit. He is our man with high caliber, clean and bright mind and innocent. He is a man of justice and humble. Yes he does not like to talk about him self and gather TIFOZO’S around him.

I really agree with Teame hailemariam and other guys who have unpolluted mind. The other writers who are critizing Siye, Gebru– are simply haters and are those who do not bother about the future Tigray and Ethiopia.
Whether you believe or not, Siye Abraha is a national hero, who is a well trained general in space map engineering and for sure Siye Abraha and Hayelom Araya are known for their wise activities in their war leadership. People simply hate Siye is because he is from Tembien, the place where the African hero like Atsye Yohannis, Alula Abanega were born but these heros are being considered as they were nothing and now we can see now writers writting fabricated histories about the people wo are currently in power. History should be based on truth. We can see now writters writting their books under the sponsorship of EPRDF and you can see these books neglecting the role of Siye Abraha, Gebru, Hayelom Ayaya — all the true Ethiopians and Tigrians. History should not be written for the sake of fame or get money from the guys in administrations. Now, it look likes i will give you money and write i was a hero. This is a shame for us Tigrians and Ethiopians.
So, please Aiga and those who write blindly against our heros ( Siye, Hayelom, Gebru—–) try to think and reflect to people what is truth and fact. We have to pass truth to the next generation.
It is a fact that Tigray has been the victim for years even under our administrators, EPRDF. They did not do any thing in Tigray and tigrians have sacrify their blood for nothing almost. Because fathers and mothers of these heros who died for their people are being arrested in Tigray, especially in Tembien.
Please let us stop divide and rule policy of TPLF. There were only changes during the administration of Gebru, Siye etc. All the industries and others were built at that time. No change has come after the split of central committee except the bd action taken by TPLF to split Tigrians into zone, wereda and kebelele.

what I want to say about Siy’s speech is , Is there any thing untrue in his speech ?. It is crystal clear that TPLF can’t present anyone who can compete with the high profile Siye Abraha . This is the fact . You TPLF supporters with no solid reason may say a lot . Siye Abraha is Veteran fighter who did much for Tigirans like Meles . For his achievement ,sadly awarded prison as medal . He has lived a miserable life langueshiing in prison . Thanks to Almighty and Brtukna . he released later . Don,t think as Tigray will not produce partyies apart from TPLF.
I love Tigray. If there is no one to go to jail before the election, 2010 is going to prove that TPLF is going to loss in Tigray. In my view Seye will be in jail before or after the election. Gebru may get one box. You will find the reason from government officials.

I know you are smart people. I don’t want to see you fail because I beleive it is your unity that keep our borders with Eritrea safe. Ethiopians know the importance of our Assab port, but to reach there your unity is very important. Let TPLF continue for five years. When Zenawi give his power in 2015, we will bring our port and Eritrea under our control. Please stay united! This is not a time to divide based on North and South.

No one cant forget the contribution of Siye or Gebru for their former party TPLF. But if they are criticizing the regime of Meles for being a dictator, it would be very funny for me. What were they doing when they were in power? What will they do different when they come to power as they are dreaming??? May be they will send Meles and his friends in to prison on their turn.
Let’s remember when Gebru was president of Tigray, what did he do? He send many people into prison, he him self and every body knows what he did when he was in power. Two elections were held when he was there, were they free and fair????? Ahhhhhhhhh…. But he seeks a fair and free election to be held now. Where shall we bring it for him? Please Gebru tell us where to bring. Aite Gebru you better go again to Dedebit or somewhere else and get the prime minister position. Mr. Hayelom, I really appreciate your comment. I am not advocate of Ato Siye or Gebru. I am not also anti the ones who are just in power. But, what I want to say is that any one will not remain in a power forever. As rational thinkers, what we do is that we just put the personality of people as it is. We shouldn’t run for criticism for the simple reason that these guys have already lost power; at the same time, we should not appreciate people for the simple reason that they are in a good position. Challenges are always there. We people get power once up on a time and we lose it in some other time for many reasons. All of them are our brothers who really enable us to write these comments freely and democratically sitting infront of our Laptops. All of them have done miracle history which the current and the next generation may not repeat it in the Development arena. They were indeed so strong! However; currently, all of them have made lots of mistakes. As to me, Tigray and the people of Tigray particularly haven’t achieved what is expected to be achieved. Now, what we need is someone that can bring as much as possible radical change. Someone that can consider and listen the heartbeat of our society. Someone that can’t use his/her position as a tool for serving his family but as tool of serving the society at large. The poor should not cry! WE NEED CHANGE! That’s all!

The main issue is not whether to sit in front of Laptops or not .We can write lots of ideas and express our own feelings by writing on a big flat stone. That was what I did when I was about 11 years. My emphasize is that writing of ideas freely is possible whenever you have democracy, freedom…, This was not possible during the Butcher government of Mengstu’s period. Now, you can criticize the Prime Minister that we have; however, during the previous times, you criticize Mengstu the butcher if and only if you hate life on the earth (if you want to sacrifice your life once and forever). Otherwise, the issue is not whether to write sitting in front of laptops or on a big flat stone. Now, I believe that you get my idea. Anyway, Mr. Tedros, let’s have a touch!

Congratulations! For those of you who are supporters of EPRDF in general and TPLF in particular for a reason that the election process has already ended peacefully. EPRDF has taken an overriding power not only due to the lots of efforts they did in the past five years in enhancing the nation’s economy but also their competent have been obtained as immature in politics that even spend their time in fighting among themselves. I believe that these all; among others of course, have created a good opportunity to EPRDF to win the competition at the grass roots level. It is now high time for every body to accept the result peacefully and to draw lessons from mistakes for the next election. No one should incorporate him/her self in to illegitimate activities. I hope that I see my country moving one step ahead politically, economically, socially, culturally,… in the coming five years. Finally, it is my best wish that the Bee will give us the right justice basically in infrastructural facilities distribution and other aspects. I hope that the Bee will be obtained as fair as possible in giving the right Honey!

Hey guys how are you? i am a great fan of ideas which are raised by Ato Teame…except the last one.I don’t think our countery go forward in democratization process with regarding to this election.Even i don’t think EPRDF won the election based on it’s achivements.In my personal openion the only reason why EPRDF won is due to lack of integrity & lack of strong leadership on the opposition side.Somebody may ask what if EPRDF won due to opposition weaknesses? that is a good question.EPRDF plays a great role for the happening of the above two weaknesses; by aresting the great intelectual leader Birtukan Mideksa & by creating pupet parties like Ayele Chamisos false KINGIT.
