Iyasu’s death reminds me when the Tigrigna speakers moral was high all over. Many Amharas and moslems specially of Eritrea were in a doom and gloom spirit. That was the first time Bahli Tigrai came to to DC. Of cours I could not forget Konan(genle) Iyasu with his barbs. We will remember you for a long time to come. If you meet Abraham Afeworki or Yemane Baria, Salute them.
Condolences to all Tigrigna speakers including Eritreans and above all to his familiy.
Eyasu’s sudden death is, indeed, tragic. My sincere condolences to his family and loved ones!

Eyasu was the A – Z encyclopidia of the struggle of the people of Tigrai. He was the warehouse of Art and Culture, who has contributed more than his share.
Have we done our share? If not let us march together and take over the responsibilities from our jeganu brother and sister who paid their dear life for Tigrai and Ethiopia. The spirits of Eyasu and all martyrs will live with us only and only if we do our share in the struggle against poverty and in preserving our history.
Eyasu, you have done a great job that will serve generations to come! We love you so dearly and you will remain in everyone’s heart, eyes and ears.
May your soul rest in peace.

When I heard the incident I was shocked and saddned. Eyasu was not a singer and not only a freedom fighter for his country Ethiopia and the Tigrean oppression in particular. But he was a big treasure of Tigrigna cultural songs and poems which he will be missed so much by the people of the Horn.
My condolence to Eyasu family and friends and may God rest his soul in peace.

Iyasu Berhe “The father of TPLF”
The legend has left us, Iyasu was the father of TPLF and the son of Tigray. We have lost our best son, brother, father and and a hero in countless ways. His contribution to the long lasted people’s struggle was remarkable and huge, his artistic skill, his fatherly charm, and his calm and collectected personality was the biggest infulence. His brilliant work helped prepalled the struggle for peace, justice and democray won the way it did. Iyasu has died but his works will live forever, and he will be rememberd not only as an artist but also as one of our best heros of our time. God bless his soul. Rest in peace!!!!!!!!!!!
My heart goes out to the family during this diffcult loss, Great person and true gift to our people.
Iyasu Berhe “The Hero”
It is impossible if not difficult to fit Iyasu’s contribution and accomplishment in one small page. But it became my obligation to do my best. His unmatched talent, invigirating personality and gifted motivator will geatly be missed. I am sadden by his sudden death and may God pay him his divident for the sacrifies he made for the rest of us.
my heart gose out to the family
It feels like a dream even after few days has passed since his death. He will be missed alot.
What I want to say though is that I hope that AIGA keeps all of the poem and writing about Iyasu death so that they will be kept as part of history one day. All the contiributions about this legend should be kept for the future generation. It should not be lost or erased as memory of a computer or storage is filled.
Everything should be recorded and kept in a hard copy somewhere. It is our history and sorrow about a legend.
Strength to his immediate family and comerads as well as the people of Tigray.

I didn’t know about Eyasu Berehe until the death of the great Tilahun Gesesse. The day, Eyasu gave one of the most prolific interview anyone ever given about Tilahun. His respect to Tilahun and the his profession was vividly displayed in that interview. I asked people who this guy, Eyasu Berehe was? That’s when I learned a little bit about him. It was only last week, however, I found out on Eyasu’s interview on Sheger FM I found out he was the singer of one of my all time favorite songs, ‘Alehu Belo.’ God, I love that song. I specially heard it a lot during our victorious war against Eritrea. That inverview also gave a clear understanding of who Eyasu Berehe was. He was a fighter, a signer, a poet, an artist, a leader, a teacher etc… all in all, He was a great man. He was family whose love for his mother was remarkable. He was a real hero in a real sense. His death is a big loss to our country.
No, I am not TPLF or EPRDF supporter. I am an Ethiopian who give likes to give credit where credit is due. Eyasu earned the respect of mone and millions of people. May God rest his soul in heaven and give strength to his family.
Here is a request to you guys at Aiga. Is there any way you can put his song, ‘Alehu Belo’ on your website, please?
AYMOTEN EYASU!

Dear All,
I am really saddend to know, rather late, about the sadden death of this great artis tand tegadalay! I just visited Aiga Forum to read some recent news and listen to, among others, the wonderful songs of Ato Iyasu Berhe. I moved my cursor to click at his photo, expecting to listen to his music. When I saddenly read “click here to leave a condolence message”, I was shocked!
May God give him eternal rest and comfort his family, friends and comrades. I had hopped to meet him in person since he left a very positive image on with his wonderful song “LOMI AYNEY BERHE”. What is in the name? Iyasu Berhe was an asset for Eritrea and Ethiopia!
An Eritrea friend,
