Who fired the cleaning lady? According to the 83 years old party boss Prof Mesfin Woldemariam, it was the dictatorial leadership of UDJ. His colleges on the other hand, (UDJ leadership) are saying the cleaning lady was not a problem, but Prof. Mesfin is a dictator from the last century and wants to stop UDJ from joining the “Medrek” group. Mind you, these are the same guys who break up Kinijit by accusing their leader Hailu Shaul as a dictator. These same dictators fired ‘democrat’ Dr. Nega, who just wanted to go to Asmara to join dictator Isayas. Just recently the UDJ leadership came out with a press release accusing the ruling party for being a dictator, because EPRDF was bribing their members with money to break them up. What kind of members do they have any way?
These folks did not stop mudding each other’s reputation by calling each other dictator but also calling each other “Dergist.” How dreadful.
I once entered the word “Dergist” in Wikipedia as: As a derogatory term, you do not want to use on an Ethiopian. This popular and flexible word was also popularly used by the old guard on Lidetu and EDP at western Embassy tea parties for begging money. They accuse Lidetu as a spoiler and traitor, and defector from their old party and begged Embassy guys to disinvite EDP to a white man’s tea party. It looked like the Dutches are the voters these days unless [they] shopping for a new Viceroy. Seen any Gomez yet?
But young Lidetu and EDP were having tea party with Ethiopian voters campaigning all over the country, the only ones that count, and will finally cast the vote come 2010!
The funny thing, the old guard’s Lunatic Diaspora Support Groups uses the word (dictator) in a different context. That is: the word is used when one faction of the group decides to raid the treasury or the bank account. The treasurer, the auditor and their supporters become dictators as we have recently witnessed with the AEUP support group split. Off course, it will be ridiculous of me to claim everyone is after the moneybag. The acrimony within the lunatic Diaspora is as old as its leaders. It is a public secret that these support groups are composed of former enemies, from former military government members and the 40 years old former anti Derg communist party (EPRP) functionaries. Unable to work together, they resume their never-ending war every election year or fund raising season. Their war as it is known back then, the white and red terror war, is not as lethal now, no bullets are flying, just shooting the word dictator with the same motive of, opportunism, and power. I am too young to advice old people. Anyone care! May be they should start with re-hiring the cleaning lady back.
This irritating word (dictator) also appeared in a recent farewell and preparation meeting for the Ethiopian pilgrims to Asmara. As if their leader is going to the Holy Lands of Mecca or Jerusalem, Ginbot 7 leader Berhanu Nega was first blessed by EPPF and the peace loving Anuak Justice Group and Obang, for his courage to fight dictators. For a moment it sounded like Berhanu and Obang were to fight Isayas the dictator, but no, just simply following the footsteps of Awyes the crazy Jihadi, OLF and ONLF.
To the delight and applause of his divers and lovely and potential subside bombers, who will arrive in Addis for the 2010 election, Berhanu attributed the word dictator to one whole Ethiopian ethnic group. Not belonging to that ethnic group myself, I was not sure if I was relieved or angry, but understood that it helps to have a PhD. in economics, the man has mastered opportunity cost well. The word dictator was also used interchangeably with undemocratic as in no constitution, election, or free press but not attributable to Eritrea where the liberation of Ethiopia will start. Give Berhanu a credit for keeping his 2005 election promise of getting us Asseb back and voiding Algiers. He is the only kinjit who is getting close to Assab. I do not know what dictator Isasyas is thinking about that. Is Isayas the smarty Sponge Bob Square Pants and Berhanu Patrick the stupid?
