In memory of Eyasu Berhe

Some say you are a fallen hero,

Some say you have given the ultimate sacrifice for us.

But, I say you have become the light of Tigray,

And every day I will remember at what price.

You will be my guiding light.

You will be my hero,

You will be the reason I continue to fight.

I will keep the promise, to keep our people safe day and night.

Some say it is not fair,

Some say it is too late,

I say it, too.

Still I can’t believe that is you, Eyasu.

Some do not know you,

Though they see your reason every day,

For I read, see and heard your work.

For which your memory will always be displayed.

Not a day goes by I do not see your face,

Your presence is well known.

Your memory I will embrace,

You are one of my own.

To see you are going even though it hurts.

For me you are living in side my heart.

You will be missed,

You will be remembered and you will always exist.
