We, members of the Union of Tigreans in North America/UTNA/, unequivocally and categorically castigate and condemn in no uncertain terms the recent explosion at a café in Adi-daero district of Tigray region in northern Ethiopia that killed five innocent civilians and injured twenty others.

This dastardly act of cowardice is the whole mark of the brutal one-man dictatorial criminal clique of Isayas Afewerki of Eritrea.

The Ethiopian people who are currently bracing themselves up for the upcoming May 23, 2010 election shall all the more be emboldened by the incessant and nefarious acts of sabotage being concocted in all hooks and nooks by belligerent elements and resolve to make the election fair, free, democratic, peaceful and credible by all accounts.

We call upon the people and government of Ethiopia to bring those surrogates to justice and close ranks to safeguard the nation from the infiltration of agent provocateurs, and to strenuously undermine any network of paid silhouettes and spies of the reckless and wickedly obsessed group of Shaebia and its tutelages.

We hail and honor the victims of the heinous and perfidious acts of terrorism hatched by the unholy alliance of the ruling gangs in Asmara and their riff-raffs and wholeheartedly express our deep and sincere sympathy and regrets by forwarding our condolences to the dead, injured and the entire bereaved families.
