THE DAY THAT WILL LIVE IN INFAMY

THE DAY THAT WILL LIVE IN INFAMY

Ezana Sehay Nov-06-21

Tigrayan MothersNovember,4 marks one year since the declaration of war against the people of Tigray. Fueled by evil and Tegaru-hatred, colonel Abiy Ahmed regime and its collaborators sought to extinguish an entire people. Raped, murdered, tortured, starved, humiliated, robbed of their property, Tigreans endured horrors that must never be seen.

The title of the article is taken from a speech delivered by President Franklin D. Roosevelt of the US, following the imperial Japanese air force’s attack on Pearl harbor. Historians concur that speech was the harbinger of things to come which changed the global geo-politics.

November 4 is our [Tegaru’s] pearl harbor day – that will change the geo-politics of the Horn of Africa. At the dawn of the invasion of Tigray by the allied forces of evil, our Franklin Roosevelt, the Honorable Debretsion Gebremichael, president of Tigray, had delivered similar speech with forceful brevity, the high light of which was – “Tigray will be the graveyard of our enemies”.

True to form, thanks to the unbounding determination of our people, who have consistently demonstrated resolve and determination in the face of devastating war, our president’s prognosis is proven right. Owning to brave sons and daughters of Tigray not only Tigray, but by the looks of it, the entire Ethiopia is about to be a graveyard of the enemies of Tigray.

The purpose of the Axis of Evil was to eradicate the entire people of Tigray by all means. They have made it clear through their constantly bombarding their delusional base with lies and inflammatory rhetoric. How is it working for them? You ask. Don’t ask. If anything, the invasion has made Tigray indestructible and stronger.

Furthermore, the invasion has led to a fundamental shift in Tegaru’s outlook vis a vis Ethiopia. In the words of Professor Meresa Tsehaye, “Tigray has stooped forgetting and forgiving”.

To the Ethiopian people: Before 1991, the vast majority of you were mere numbers, subjects. There was no Oromia, Sidama, Afar, Somali, Welayta, etc.…In 1991, Woyane came to power. It reminded you, that you are somebody who deserve respect. It rearranged the political and administrative structure to fit your aspirations.

For 27 years you reaped the fruits of federalism: reasserted your identity, developed your languages, cultures. In short Woyane gave you your pride. And yet, when the reactionaries [those who deprived your rights of for centuries] conspired against Woyane and the people of Tigray, you cheered and joined them. Dawn! Dawn! Woyane become your slogan – go figure.

Worse, when the fascist Abiy Ahmed Ali declared war on the people of Tigray, you enthusiastically supported him even send your sons to join the fascist army to kill Tigrayans, the people who sacrificed for your freedom. Tigray will never forget.

To those of you who masterminded and their foot soldiers: the Ethiopian barbarian army, the Eritrean locust soldiers and the Amara Janjaweed militias, there is no place to hide and no power who can shield you from the impending wrath of Tegaru justice. Tigray will never forgive.

Tigray the victorious!
