On whose behalf? Is Geladius(PHD) merciful to the Amhara militia in the Zemede show. Kalayu Abrha 05-11-21 Any Tigrayan has every personal right to say whatever he likes as long as it does not compromise the core sensitivities of the people of Tigray. What has been happening in Tigray for the last six months is beyond the power of available words. Much more than the actions determined to end the existence of Tigray is what is accumulating in every brain cell of the Tegaru victims. The hate towards the tripartite killers, millions of helpless Tegaru are harboring in their hearts, is unfathomable. It cannot be measured in terms words spoken because millions of Tegaru victims have been made voiceless systematically. Because such deep feeling of hurt cannot be adequately expressed by Tegaru-friendly media run by people far away from the location of suffering and grief much of the brutalities that happened during the war of genocide could remain unknown or may be excused as the actions of few individuals and serve as a basis for appeasement and callous reconciliation. People are betrayed and like animal farm the pigs and the humans become all humans. I have my fears about what would happen at the end of the war, in which the TDF is making history, because I can observe subtle sliding back, compromises, categorizing the killers as bad, moderate, and tolerable by some Tegaru, who by now I have realized, are sitting on the fence. This is not coming from the people of Tigray who are in real hell. It is coming from the elite who are desperate to see normalization of relations with killers where there is no ground at all for it. Although I have been watching and hearing some uncomfortable statements from one Channel, which since recently is softening up with soldiers of the ETDF and the Ethiopian Othodox Church by creating typologies as: understandable, tolerable, and exercising caution and reservation about the kinds of words they deserve to hear. From the killers' side there is little mercy on the insults thrown at Tigray.
Why are some Tegaru wagging their tails to people who never hesitate to call them dogs? Here I am not referring to the Bandas who from the outset have held uncompromising positions about the war and their role in facilitating it. We don't fear them because we know them! Since the people of Tigray know them very well and have rejected them, they don't pose any serious danger in future if they are lucky to survive. I am talking about those who are on Tigray side and have media access with wider outreach but are revealing subtle signs of compromise and softening without adequately probing into the hearts of Tigrayans, which are circulating thick dark blood in silence. These individuals have no right to express sympathies for the killers that have become POWs. Taking POWs is procedural; but overdue care and concern for their health and safety is puzzling. The POWs did not have a chance, but they went to Tigray to kill and rape! Isn't holding them just as POWs more than enough? If this is being used for propaganda consumption it is wasting time! However, kind the TDF becomes it is just a Junta and more a terrorist in the eyes of Ethiopians. Hoping against hope to get sympathies and a quick end to the war is based on ignorance about the uncompromising position of the invaders to finish off Tigray whether it poses like an angel or a devil. Carelessly pressing a pointed stick on the open wounds of Tegaru victims is callous and unTigrayan! Recording and broadcasting a video where the POWs are asked to choose beverage is totally out of the way! Aren't there millions of Tegaru who have no access to a cup of tea? It is this weakness at the end of every war (Menilik, Haile Selassie, Derg) that has exposed us to this war. If we continue with this kind of carelessness now the next war will mark the end of Tigray. If you want to speak for Tegaru get it from the hearts of Tegaru not from your own personal feelings. I am not trying to discourage the great things you are all doing for Tigray; but bad things grow and expand from a few seeds. My statement is not too early. That was how it started in the past too: creeping and normalizing! I have a lot of respect for Geladius Araya (PHD). Above all he is(?) leading the follow up of the Tigray genocide case. I was used to his frequent appearance on TMH and feel comfortable about what he says. He takes things just out of your mouth and puts them with dignity typical of Tegaru. Today I saw him on Mereja TV with Zemede and couldn't believe the pupils of my eyes! There was another misplaced Tigrayan on the show with the Professor. The other Tigrayan was toiling to describe and legitimize the TDF to Zemede who almost invariably characterizes the TDF as an army of evil. He even failed to answer Zemede's question: "If TDF is the army of people why are TPLF leaders leading it?" It is a good question, isn't? But it did not get the right answer! The Tigrayan gave such a very lame answer that Zemede was pleased to have won the argument. Zemede would say, considering that lame guy as representative of Tegaru who don't know why TPLF leaders are leading the people's war. It is hard to understand why that good for nothing Tigrayan found himself in the uncompromisingly anti-Tigrayan Zemede show. Maybe he is wagging his tail to be considered for a position. The answer to Zemede's question is very very simple! The little Tigrayan child has told the soldiers surrounding her in very clear words. Here is the answer the Tigrayan on Zemede show dreaded to say! TDF is the army of Tigray. Tigray has elected TPLF, in landslide election, to Govern it. Debretsion is the elected President of Tigray off-palace. As President of Tigray, he is the Commander in Chief of the TDF!! Nothing less, nothing more! I can understand that Tigrayan who appeared on Zemede show, who may be cooking something for himself sitting on the fence, but never Professor's smiling appearance. This is my personal view based on what I expected of him from my experience in previous appearances on Tegaru channels. He seems to be dangerously stuck between his love and care for Ethiopia and his responsibility as a highly placed Tigrayan. I am surprised now not as I would be before the war. Many of us were madly in love with Ethiopia before the six-months in hell. We had a lot of bitter exchanges of words with those who supported the independence of Tigray. More than enough message has been sent to millions of Tegaru, in words and action, that we don't belong to Ethiopia. The only way we can live in "peace" is by surrendering our right to self-rule and be subject to enslavement by the Amhara forever. Who dares to say this is not the whole truth? So, whatever positive words the Amhara-friendly media utters about Tegaru is either out of fear of the punishments TDF victories would bring upon them or they are using the beaten track tactic of lulling Tegaru into sleep. They have used it before and succeeded; and they want to try again. They know there are Tegaru who can easily be talked into friendship by either lubricating their hands or preaching them about Ethiopia and Orthodox Christianity a "common denominator for Amhara and Tigray". The latter has been the most effective tranquilizer used by Amhara through the ages. There are clear signs that the tricks are being used again. Demonizing Tegaru that don't succumb to the age-old tactic as "anti-Ethiopian". Professor was asked a question by Zemede which he himself evaluated as a "very good question". I have not excused the professor for taking two spoons and appearing on TMH and Mereja, channels with diametrically opposite missions. I had to be patient to listen to how he answers the question. The question was appropriate, but the answer was a disaster. Here is the question: "Who is responsible for the mess in Ethiopia?" By Ethiopia we mean, of course, including Tigray. I know when you talk about genocide by Ethiopians (+Amhara militia) and Eritreans those listening to you would think that you are talking about Ghana or Sierra Leon.
When His Holiness Patriarch Abune Matias talked about Tigray genocide Orthodox Christianity showered fire on him for speaking about a "foreign land" that is none of the concern of Ethiopians. He was expected to talk 24/7 about Amhara death and never mention Tigray. What kind of union of purpose with Ethiopians is Geladius looking for? He is in a comfort zone; let that be as it may. BUT he has no right to hide the names of those responsible for genocide in Tigray. Is he going to hide it from the ICC too? This is his answer that maddened me: He listed down Eritrean army (with an insult as mercenary); PP army (which in reality is the ENDF), and UAE drones. Do you notice a huge meteorite crater in his answer? He failed to mention the Amhara Militia which is already identified by US Secretary of state as committing widespread genocide, land robbery, and displacing internally and externally hundreds of thousands of Tegaru, and raping women to purify their blood the crime which Ermias (Ethio 360) treacherously shifted the blame to Eritreans. The Amhara militia started its war on Tigray three years ago. It tried to starve by blocking roads and also displacing tens of thousands of Tegaru from Gondar. With all due respect why did you decide to hide the main culprit in the Tigray genocide? If you are scared that Zemede will not like it, you got lost in yourself. Zemede and his thousands of hate-blinded followers cheered you, Zemede called for a standing ovation for you. The likes were accompanied by words of appreciation for you as a scholar scoring against the rest of us Tegaru scholars as "dumb fans of the Junta". While you were cheered in the Amhara media fellows of those who cheered you are displacing, killing, raping, and robbing Tegaru in the West and South of Tigray. Worse still, you rose from you seat and bowed to the followers of Zemede! You had a very bad day Professor. Go to a Tigrayan monk and repent. Back to Front Page |
