Abiy and Renassiance Dam Under Egyptian Control.

Dear Aigaforum –

The current saber-rattling by Egypt is meant to scare Ethiopians and force Ethiopia to comply with Egypt's demand. A close knowledgeable friend I talked told me, the Abiy government is trying to use Egypt's saber-rattling to extend its power beyond the current term without an election.  At first, Abiy was convinced the COVID-19 issue was good enough to extend his rule, but, of late, he has realized it is not enough. Apparently, Abiy has no support from Oromo nationalists who are steadfast in their refusal to join his prosperity party and road-map plan. It is with this in mind, Abiy is trying to create a make-believe rift with Egypt on the issue of filling the Renaissance Dam.

 Ethiopians would be foolish to allow Abiy as the head of unelected government going forward.  If they do, said my knowledgeable close friend, Egypt will win and the Renaissance Dam will fall under its control. This is not farfetched, it is a real pre-planned deal that was cooked by the Arabs who are sponsors of Abiy and some of the diaspora based footsoldiers of the color revolutionaries.

According to a knowledgeable person at the UN, Egypt is aware and convinced Abiy is weak and is amenable. It is doing all it can to concluded the Nile agreement now while Abiy is in power.

Egypt is working hard to create a situation where Abiy can easily sign on the dotted line and keep his power grip by scaring Ethiopians with an imminent war with Egypt. The current saber-rattling by Egypt that it is ready to strike Ethiopia if it does not sign an agreement and the recent sudden shift by Sudan to support Egypt is part of the big plan of creating a siege atmosphere to scare Ethiopians.
