Call for Establishing a
Union of
As we all are witnessing, anti-Peoples of Ethiopia in general and anti-EPRDF forces in particular are uniting, and doing all the damages they can do to the Ethiopian Peoples. They are working day and night to discredit all the policies, strategies, activities, and successes of the government. It is imperative that these reactionary forces are confronted, and their sinister motives are exposed and discredited.
Ethiopia belongs to all Peoples of Ethiopia. Nonetheless, what we are witnessing are that: (a) the reactionaries portraying themselves as the owners of Ethiopia, and treating many of us as tenants in their property; (2) the majority getting into a state of deafening silence, as if they are in conformity with the position of the reactionaries; (3) the grey area occupants blaming everybody else with no definite objective (as far as the public is concerned).
It is high time for all intellectuals who support EPRDF and the current Federal System of Government to come together and get organized to fight against the reactionaries. It is disservice to humanity to keep idle while architects of Red Terror and White Terror, Conspirators of Economic and Political Alienation of the Nations, Nationalities and Peoples of Ethiopia, as well as disciples Chauvinism overrun our very existence as Peoples and as a Nation.
Some writers over the web are crying for the Ethiopian government to do something about the pardoned convicts for violating the conditions of their pardon. It would have been easier for us to organize ourselves and do our responsibility. I am very certain that there are so many victims of Red and White Terror in Washington DC. But I heard nobody uttering anything when those engineers of Red and White Terror were organizing conferences in various colleges in DC and other states about human right in Ethiopia.
We are at a historical juncture witnessing self-declared ‘First Class Ethiopians’ going as far as trading Ethiopian Unity and Sovereignty to recover their “God Given Seat’’ in Menelik’s Palace. And the weapons that they are using are none other than their names. They are fortunate enough to have something before and/or after their names, at the expense of other Ethiopians, which in turn gave them the license to assemble uninformed citizens and confuse foreign governments, politicians, and scholars. They are also fortunate enough to make wealth, at the expense of all of us, to buy support.
I am sure that there are so many progressive intellectuals that are capable of dwarfing those groups and individuals, and nip their move in the bud whenever and wherever. Thus, I call up on all supporters of the federal system and EPRDF to come together and establish a Union.
