Tigreans from different parts of Ethiopia donate over 500 thousand birr to displaced families living in Tigrai Reportage
It was an amazing seen to see that many people at the border when it was first opened but to see such traffic before the two countries have a well-planned custom regulation is really amazing-- Our political leaders have erred big time over the years to have divided the people. Ethiopia heading to 'SHITHOLCOUNTRY' Kebour Ghenna
September 27, 2018 - We woke up this morning and checked the news...What we came across were some trendy Oromo politicians from the Diaspora, berating why their party is ready to govern Oromia WTH Ethiopia... or something like that. We haven't heard anything like this! These Oromo leaders don't stop reminding us of their ideology, which I call Oromo Exceptionalism, a sort of xenophobic ethnic nationalism... When we advocated for constitutional order and respect of rule of law we were trying to create awareness of what justice by the mob will do to a country like ours! For the sake of Ethiopia, the current administration must succeed but it must succeed while respecting the rule of law and the constitution. If the current administration fails most if not all of the Oromo people will be disheartened and lose hope. It is too late to create an image of this government as anything but an Oromo government. Thus why it must succeed to govern with proper Ethiopia. The task now is how to manage the Abiy government grow to become a progressive and pragmatic government where rule of law, not foreign advisors are guiding the day to day governance.

My two cents say on Jawar Mohammed Visiting Tigray. Reqiq 9/27/18 - I am reading diverse opinions on Social Media regarding a rumor on the coming visit of Jawar to Tigray which is very good, on the diverse opinions because for a healthy community, it is natural to have diversified opinions. To mention the diverse opinions....Some say he shouldn't welcome; some he should, and the third opinion is that he has the right as a citizen but not as a hero welcome to Tigray.

On Protocol - Is President Mulatu somehow incapable addressing the nation during holidays? Why is PM Abiy always taking the airtime during such events? Isn't the constitution clear on this and what is the reason to bypass the normal protocol now? I believe President Dr. Mulatu is more than capable to address the nation during such events. Child marriage in Africa persists THREE out of four girls in Niger are married before they are 18, giving this poor west African country the world’s highest rate of child marriage. The World Bank says it is one of only a very small number to have seen no reduction in recent years; the rate has even risen slightly. The country’s minimum legal age of marriage for girls is 15, but some brides are as young as nine..

Tigrai TV: Dr Debretsion on TPLF Congress and Current Issues- Amharic, Sep 2018
Isaias at the most confusing crossroads of his life Fetsum Abraham 09-25-18 - As we can see, something good is going on in our region since PM Abiy’s arrival few months ago. Things are developing fast and the current effort for regional cooperation in social, political, security and economic venues of at least Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia and Somalia appears promising specially in the ambiance of common understanding on peaceful coexistence ..
A Message to TPLF's Congress Yene Gasha 09-25-18 - TPLF is slated to hold its much-anticipated general congress shortly. In light of the turmoil across Ethiopia and the existential threat facing EPRDF, this year’s TPLF congress will need to be historic. I have a few thoughts.
The achievements of Oromo Democratic Party's (ODP's) 9th Organizational Conference Dr. Teshome Adugna September 25, 2018 - Party conference play pivotal role in shaping and leading the future activities of the given political organization. Cracking Open Ethiopia's Political Can of Worms Professor Desta, Asayehgn 09-24-18 - In order to halt a late 2015 wave of anti-government protest and eventually stimulate political and socio-economic reforms, Ethiopians elected Dr. Abiy(hereafter referred as Abiy) Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia on April 2, 2018. After six months in power, instead of facilitating a peaceful and democratic pathway, Abiy appears more focused on self-aggrandizing and enhancing his popularity.
The sense of entitlement in TPLF has to be tackled first and foremost. Haile Tessema, Sept. 24, 2018 -
The good book says, "The love of money is the root of all evil" (1 Timothy 6:10). But - while the Apostle Paul was obviously addressing mammon when he wrote that in his letter to Timothy - money evidently is not the only culprit.Rather, power and prestige - be it political, economic or social - are part and parcel of that. So, it'd be fair to deduce that the sense of entitlement money, power and prestige give to someone or a group is at the root of all evil.
Ethiopia's Struggle Against Climate Change Gets a Boost from Green Climate Fund ADDIS ABABA, Sep 24 2018 (IPS) - Faced with worsening droughts due to climate change, Ethiopia is joining an international initiative seeking to build global resilience against the problems caused by it, and enable developing countries to become part of a united solution to the ongoing problem. One of the many PM Meles's legacies was his involvement on the world stage on behalf of Africans and Ethiopians! His leading role as an advocate of the poor who are the first victims of climate change brought by western pollution will not be forgotten. How things have changed since he left us! Ethiopia today is talking about Burayu killings, not about climate change and its effect on our people!
Arab Gulf states in the Horn of Africa: What role do they play? The Red Sea, which separates Africa from the Arabian Peninsula, is just 355 kilometers (220 miles) wide at its broadest point. The major shipping route could be an economic treasure trove for any regional power. Yet for the last ten years, the water route spanning the Gulf of Aden in the south to the Suez Canal in the north has been a difficult one to navigate. Somali pirates, border disputes between Eritrea and Djibouti, landlocked Ethiopia's attempt to gain Red Sea access,...
The future is in Africa, China already knows it
During the past decade, China has been investing a lot of money in sub-Saharan Africa:
Some Western observers worry that this represents a new form of colonialism. Given the continent’s history with European conquerors and rich countries trying to cheaply exploit its natural resources, that suspicion is understandable. But although China can sometimes be predatory...
