In the spirit of the growth and transformation plan, the US really needs to change its approach on giving aid to Ethiopia! Ethiopia's dream is to be self sufficient in five years time! Such dream can be easily attained if friendly countries like the USA help in a meaningful way, like the Chinese and Indians are doing! No amount of giving a little here and a little there to mitigate future disaster will bring about the realization of the dream. The dream is not about dreaming on disaster prevention all the time. It is about envisioning growth and progress! It is growth that will put an end to any unforeseen disaster in Ethiopia.

Let us hope lessons have been learned here by every one! By now we should all know, after watching the story of Amoraw and others, if there is injustice and repression Ethiopians do know how to fight till the last drop so to speak. Amoraw died because he did not want to blink even when faced with certain death to save his life let alone a warm jail! He fought till death and brought about the current constitution. The constitution must be respected. The Government must be respected for it is the government of the people! And these are the lessons we hope Birtukan and others have learned, that no one is above the law!
