I know it is not time to be ecstatic because Derg 2.0 is all but finished, however, I cannot hide my euphoria, the Al Mariam's and Tilahun's are back to where they were a year or two ago. They are back at barking and crying because their short, gained success in dismantling the EPRDF, is nothing to be gleaned about anymore. The Amhara Elites gambled on the notion - if TPLF can be removed from power in Addis they can have their Ethiopia back. Little did they know there was and is no Ethiopia without Tigray since Ethiopia was really made up of Tigray and Tigrayan history. In short, the Ethiopia they were dreaming about was an illusion, the real ancient Ethiopia was Tigray, and the new Federal Ethiopia was still Tigray PLUS More! It is nearly gone now despite what Adanech Abebe, the so-called Gual Gobena is saying. - All this in one year! Kinezarebom Ena!! BTW, are there no Ph.D. holders from Wollo or Desie that should cry loud about what is happening? I read many of the Amhara Elites writing and I see nothing about the fact that the whole Wollo is cut from the rest of Amhara and Ethiopia, yet no one is crying foul. Are they afraid if they do so they will expose the naked emperor in Addis? [Zeru Hagos Nov 17, 2021]
You can't even cry loudly': Counting Ethiopia's war dead STOCKHOLM, Sweden (AP) - The man who counts the dead sees them everywhere.
They're in the handwritten lists of names smuggled out of a region cut off from the world by war. They're in the images of people shot and tossed off a cliff, tortured and pushed into a river, left unburied for days. They're announced by grieving families in social media posts.
A Framework for Transitional Federal Governance Abebe Teklehaimanot (Major General) Nov 16, 2021 - Ethiopia is in grief because of grinding civil wars. The economic debacle and diplomatic mess are accelerating state failure. Tigray Defense Forces (TDF) and Oromo Liberation Army (OLA) have joined hands and claim that they have enough power to control the capital, Addis Abeba if deemed necessary. The federal government has declared that the condition is beyond the control of the armed forces and needs mobilization of the whole population and proclaimed a state of emergency.
Tigray Government Statement on Ethiopia's Response to US Sanction on Eritrea. (Tigray Govt 11-14-21) - On November 13, 2021, the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs(MFA) release a statement stating its objection to the U.S. Government's imposition of punitive sanctions on Eritrean officials and entities for their role in massive human rights violations in Tigray as well as the intensification and prolongation of conflict in Tigray. This statement, though not shocking in light of the Abiy regime's invitation of the Eritrean military to take part in its genocidal campaign against the people of Tigray, represents an embarrassing milestone ...
Message from President Debretsion (PhD) Message from President Debretsion (PhD) to Tigrayans on Referendum, Self determination and the future of Tigray. Let there be no ambiguity of the sacrosanct nature of the right of Tigrayans to determine their own future!
Open Letter to Tegadalay Debretsion.(PhD) From Ermias Hailu November 12, 2021 - Congratulations to you, your comrades, and the Tigray people for successfully foiling the joint conspiracy of Abiy, Isaias and "archaic unitary Ethiopia" dreamers to destroy and subdue the TPLF and the Tigray people. Though, the war has brought untold misery, genocidal killings, rape, destruction, famine, ethnic profiling/discrimination/ persecution/arrest and forced displacement of the Tigrayan people, TPLF and the Tigray people have once again passed through fire, refined as gold and...
Forget about a wedding pray you can stay in your borough is a Tigrigna saying(Mereas Yiqrekin Adi Higeya). The saying couldn't be more apt to describe Shimeles of Oromia! He may have been planning for the conflict in the north to destroy both Amhara and Tigray to allow him to be the next king in Ethiopia, but things are changing fast. The Abiy regime and Amhara elites have yet to acknowledge any of their humiliating defeats on the battlefield - starting from WeriLehe, deep in the heartland of Tigray, to the Awash Valley today, but Shimeles of Oromia is not. The so-called architect who announced to the world that the Amhara - Tigray rift was engineered by Oromo elites of the Prosperity type to weaken both nations has to declare curfew in Oromia due to Tigray conflict. Go Figure!!
Treasury Sanctions Four Entities and Two Individuals in Connection with the Crisis in Ethiopia WASHINGTON - Today, the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) designated four entities and two individuals pursuant to Executive Order (E.O.) 14046 in response to the growing humanitarian and human rights crisis and expanding military conflict in Ethiopia. Today's action targets Eritrean actors that have contributed to the crisis and conflict, which have undermined the stability and integrity of the Ethiopian state. The USA has to wait for a year long genocidal campaign and untold destruction of Tigray to issue this sanction. Shame Shame!!! Glad Tigray did not wait for the international community to be rescued. Bikiltsemina!
Ethiopia Is Spiraling, and There's One Man's Mistake Behind It By Awol Allo (New York Times) - Thousands of people killed, more than two million internally displaced and nearly a million facing famine. The conflict in Ethiopia, begun a year ago when Abiy Ahmed launched a military assault on the Tigray region, is spiraling out of control.
No, it is not a one-man mistake. If Awol recalls it is the Oromo and Amhara elites including Awol himself that enabled Abiy to come to power. Since then Awol may have shown remorse for his guilt but let there be no mistake, Awol as well as Other Oromo Elites were instrumental in destroying the country by enabling the "OroMara" coalition. Yes, it is now effectively a one-man issue since the Oromo elites are now bystanders, but the Amhara elites are still behind this mad man and they can not escape the blame.
Ethiopia sets out terms of possible talks with Tigray Government Ethiopia on Thursday outlined conditions for possible talks with rebels from the country's war-hit Tigray region, following days of frantic diplomatic efforts by international envoys to head off another surge in fighting...Tigray Army, which has pushed south in recent months and has not ruled out a possible march on the capital Addis Ababa. Foreign ministry spokesman Dina Mufti told reporters that one of the conditions for possible talks would be for the TPLF to withdraw from the Amhara and Afar regions bordering Tigray.
Of all (hodam) people that infuriate us for trusting and standing on their side for the last 27 years thinking they were decent human beings, those that served under the EPRDF regime and yet, are also serving the Abiy and Isaias regimes today are the worst of them all. Taye and Dina shame, shame...Afernbachuh! Akh Entuf!!
Response to Amnesty International's Report on Sexual Violence in Amhara Region (Tigray Govt 11-10-21) - On November 10, 2021, Amnesty International (AI) issued a report on sexual
violence allegedly committed by Tigrayan forces in the Amhara region. While we acknowledge what AI has over the past one year done to expose human rights abuse
in Tigray and other parts of Ethiopia, its latest report is, however, based on a disturbingly flawed methodology, based as it is on a remote video-calling application
as well as self-serving testimonies from regional and federal officials. Given this serious procedural error, it would be easy to dismiss the contents of the report. But
since we take such accusations against our forces seriously, we feel compelled to address it head on.
An Update on Our Longstanding Work to Protect People in Ethiopia Recent events have focused the world's attention on the conflict in Ethiopia. Our thoughts are with the people of Ethiopia, both in the country and in the diaspora, during this difficult time. But while the international attention that these events are getting may be new, our work to prevent our platform from being abused in Ethiopia is not. In Tigirgna there is a saying "ziaklen Tihinen BealeMariam" It means the damage has been already done. May be it is better late than never, but Facebook(Meta) being the main platform most Ethiopians use, was used to destroy the country and torn the social fabric. Ethiopia is torn apart beyond repair no matter what Facebook(Meta) does now.
The eleventh sessions of the United Nation at eleventh hours! W.Yilma November 9, 2021As we know the genocidal war declared against the people of Tigray is continues unabated since November 4th/ 2020 by the dictator Abiy Mohamed Ali. Weeks after Abiy came to power he tirelessly working hard to isolate not only the Tigray People Liberation Front (TPLF) with whom he works closely for 27 years, but also the entire people of Tigray. In conjunction with the Eritrean dictator...
Ethiopia: 'we'll keep on marching'- TPLF Getachew Reda, a spokesman for the TPLF described the talks as fruitful but told the BBC its forces would keep advancing towards the capital Addis Ababa unless the government lifted its blockade of the Tigray region.
Mekelle University current affairs weekly communique #2 (MU 11-08-21) - Education is a basic human right that the government has the duty to provide, not to deprive. As part of the genocidal war that is being waged on Tigray, the federal government is using all means including education to suppress the rights of the people of Tigray. 1.4 million Students have been out of school for the last three years for reasons attributed to the COVID-19 and the ongoing war on Tigray.
Investigation on human rights violations in Tigray (11-07-21) - Hunt the Genocidaires has completed its investigation about the ongoing human rights violations in Tigray. Following the genocidal war waged on November 4, 2020, the Ethiopian government have been carrying out massive attacks against the people of Tigray, amounting to acts of Genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity. The human rights violence include systematic ethnic cleansing in Western Tigray, the weaponization of rape and mass extermination of unarmed Tigrayan civilians, pillages and lootings of Tigrayan properties, arbitrary arrests and enforced disappearance of civilians.
United Nations Security Council has received Obasanjo's Latest Update. The options he offered to the committee on ways to resolve the Tigray conflict seem to be okay. However, it may be too little too late. He should have recommended for Abiy to handover power and leave town. It makes no sense for Tigray Government to negotiate with a known killer. The time to negotiate with Abiy and Isaias was yesterday not today. Aysemen Eye!!
