Ethiopian Opposition Demands Fair Elections
ADDIS ABABA-Thirty-four Ethiopian opposition parties have signed a petition to demand the elections next April - on the district, regional and city levels - be free and fair. To demand for fair and free election is normal and expected in a developing democratic country, but how could VOA use the word "Unified" when there are over 75 opposition groups in Ethiopia and none of them see eye to eye on anything? The western handlers of these opposition groups may try one more time to unite the groups but it will fail. The opposition groups do not have a sensible common platform that can unite them to become an alternate to EPRDF! What they have in common is simply ignorance and hate. And that will not take them anywhere as we have seen it before! We wonder if the opposition groups know even in America elections are handled by each state official who are active party members!
