Waltainfo interview with Dr. Fasil Nahom Legal Advisor to the Prime Minister with the Rank of Minister.
The interview was done in preparation to the nation and nationalities day coming at the end of the month. The federal system indeed is the only glue holding this ancient country of ours. Without the federal system it would have been impossible to bring to the same table all the warring groups after the fall of the Derge.
In celebrating nation and nationalities day this year, we can achieve a watershed moment in cementing the federal system, if someone can question the government, using the legal system, on what ground were the Derge convicts released on parole! We wished waltainfo raised the issue to the legal advisor to find out his view about the issue or if he has advised the government that paroling the Derge officials was within the constitutional mandate given to the government!
