Emergency Decree and EPRDF Govt-- According to our reliable source the passage of the emergency decree was a must for the government and the government could not be more happier by the overwhelming success. The success by it's own was a defeat of the extremists and some of the EPRDFites! Our source told us there was a feeling of dismay some of the EPRDF member parliamentarians joined hands to stop the passage!
Our source told us the decree is an instrument to enforce and maintain law and order. Unless the country is stabilized, the country cannot move forward with its political and other development agendas. The next step is of course completing the necessary preparations that will enable authorities execute the decree in the entire country. It is then after that the government will be able to enforce the decree.
EPRDF is expected to start its own internal meeting to evaluate the evaluation conducted by each party. There must be a consensus on all evaluations made after EPRDF's evaluation said our source. With out such agreement no one can say for sure what the future holds for EPRDF. The upcoming discussion will decide on matters of PM election but again there is no rush talking about election now! As you all know many international news outlet have been saying EPRDF will elect its chairman and PM this coming week.According to our source there is no rush to nominate a PM! First thing first, EPRDF must reach a consensus on all issues raised during the deep renewal campaign and its outcome. It is only then the issue of election will be discussed!
Our source told us also the extremists plan for some time to bring mayhem and destruction to Addis have been thwarted. Authorities are well prepared to foil any attempt going forward thanks to the decree! -- Aigaforum March 04, 2018
Under a new state of emergency, Ethiopia is on the brink of crisis, again On Friday, Parliament ratified the state of emergency. Although the ruling coalition controls all 546 seats, an unprecedented 88 deputies voted against the measure, and nearly 100 just didn’t vote. The state of emergency declared in October 2016 passed with a unanimous vote, by comparison. Hirut Zemene, a senior Foreign Ministry official, told the U.N. Human Rights Council in Geneva on Monday that the state of emergency is necessary...
It used to be the lords of poverty that always hammer Ethiopia with all kind of negative news every time the country faced drought! With nearly double digit economic growth registered each year for the past 13 years and the many drought years it has overcome on its own, the lords of poverty are no where to be seen these days. Kudos to the late PM Meles Government! Today, instead of the lords of poverty people, we have the color revolution proponents who are having a field day with the recent challenges Ethiopia is facing. This will pass too by the way, mark my word!
The thing is why is the Ethiopian government ignoring the role of Shaibia and Egypt in the current disturbance? Why is the government not able to see the two are working hand and glove with people from within EPRDF circle? EPRDF must clean itself to save Ethiopia! Zeru Hagos 03/03/18
