You think Ethiopia has not changed for good! Think again!
The Yayu Fertiliser Factory project with a total area of more than 54 hectare or 540,000 meter square contract winner is a local company! Yayu is located at Ilibabur zone, Yayu wereda. As you can see on the youtube video, 91 dump trucks, 19 excavators, 15 loaders, 13 bulldozers to mention the few participated on the this project. The excavation and site clearing was completed in less than 60 days. Clearing and excavation work has been finished and concrete work and factory erection will commence in 2005 Ethiopian Calendar. This has broken all the records and it is a solid proof that it is not only the Chinese or the Italian companies who are capable of doing such a work. We have home grown contractors who can do as good as the Chinese or Italians. Seeing is believing!!
Andualem Arage, others found guilty as charged
Addis Ababa, June 27 (WIC) – The Federal High Court on Wednesday found Andualem Arage and others, charged with crimes of terrorism, high treason and espionage, guilty as charged.
The current anti-terrorism law that was enacted a year or so ago stipulate the government to confiscate properties of anyone convicted with such offense! Now that most of the 24 people charged are found guilty by the court will the government enforce the law or will it look the other way? According to our sources in Addis the government is likely to follow the law to the fullest but stay tune!....   See Also:

Think federally and act locally
Amen Teferi June 26, 2012--To begin with, it will be a truism to discuss and remark that it is erroneous to take the federal arrangement as a political assault, as some individuals assumed, on the unity of the Ethiopian people. span>

Security Council: Withdrawn Report of Secretary-General on Eritrea
(UPDATE)... In our view this report failed to reflect the level of failure from the Eritrean side to comply with resolutions 1844/ 2008, 1862/2009, 1907/ 2009 and 2023/2011. Those who prepared the draft report and members of the Security Council agreed that the report should have had focused on Eritrea's compliance of the resolutions. Therefore, in unprecedented manner, this report is withdrawn with the instruction of the UN Secretary General. A new report is expected to be issued soon. Having known this fact, and assuming the upcoming report might be more damning, the Eritrean pundits-- such as Dehai are trying to present the withdrawn report as an authentic one....[from our email folder!]

The truth about Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) in Ethiopia
MoFA June 22, 2012-- The technical phrase, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), literally the use of free or paid telephony service over the Internet, has created a considerable media buzz over the past couple of weeks in news coverage of Ethiopia...better late than never though the damage is done! In this case it is not the international media that should be blamed but the law drafters since in today's Ethiopia people expect the parliament to pass any law the government has drafted! It is a one party government! We are however very much hopeful the government will revise the draft to at least shield personal users from being persecuted
