Addis Ababa, January 25, 2011 (Addis Ababa) - French President Nicolas Sarkozy will take part in the 16th Ordinary Session of AU Summit
President Nicolas Sarkozy will take part in the 16th Ordinary Session of AU Summit due to be held from January 30th to 31st under the theme “Towards Greater Unity and Integration through Shared Values”, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
The ministry told ENA on Tuesday president Sarkozy, who is also the current Chairperson of the G20, will be addressing the opening ceremony of the Summit on behalf of G20.
Sarkozy is expected to hold discussions with African leaders, AU officials and representatives of continental organizations, it said.
More than 4,000 delegates including African Heads of State and Government as well as representatives of International Organizations and other distinguished invited guests are expected to attend the Summit.
The ministry said so far over 34 Heads of State and Government has confirmed to take part in the Summit.

Addis Ababa, January 26, 2011 (Addis Ababa) - Australian Foreign Affairs Minister, Kevin Rudd visited here on Wednesday St. Paul Specialized Hospital and Ethiopian Mine Action Office (EMAO).The Minister said that Ethiopia has been registering encouraging results in the health sector in particular on malaria prevention as well as reducing maternal and child mortality.
The Minister reassured his country’s willingness to further continue support to Ethiopia.
