The King and our Extremists!
The Irony of our Extremists in Diaspora is while opposing the EPRDF government who is trying to build a Dam across the Abay(Nile)river and who is trying hard to lift Ethiopians head up after years of shame due to the demoralizing poverty they have been associated with, they are supporting a King that never claimed to be of African descent and in all likely the very same King they killed some 35 years ago to get a monument! Most of our Extremists are Derge supporters and members of other Opposition groups in exile born due to King Haileselassie ‘s bad government!. Go figure out, what is a better monument for all Ethiopians to be proud of other than a Dam across Abay(Nile)river! And what is a better monument that will live forever in Africans heart other than a magnificent brand new African Union hall/building in the center of Addis built right after the demise of Kaddafi and the down fall of the Mubarak regime who has been against any development along the Nile! We want to say we are bemused but not any more…they like it or not the New Ethiopia is here to stay!
The sorry state of Eritreans! What a turn of events for the proud Eritreans who waged a bloody war for independence!

Africa Rising: Ethiopia moves to diversify exports
About three hours south of the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, lays a sprawling, 120,000-hectare field planted with hundreds of thousands of grape vines in tightly packed rows. Workers in blue coveralls cultivate the vines, looking for pesky diseases, while men stand atop ladders with slingshots in tow to fend off hungry birds. The vineyard is owned by French beverage company Castel, which plans to export half of its 750,000-thousand bottle production this year, making it Ethiopia’s first major wine exporter.

If the Ethiopian Government or EPRDF has ears and we hope they have big ears, let it be known people are having second thoughts when it comes to the government’s policy towards the one man regime in Asmara. EPRDF may belittle and characterize the legal opposition in Ethiopia, but given the release of the Derg functionaries and the fact that the very same Derg functionaries and Derg supporters are believed to have manage to make headways in influencing government officials have forced many people to take a step back and look things with hindsight. The fight against nepotism and corruption and the progress made-which was key argument during the last internal disagreement, coupled with the fact that we are still bogged down with the one man government does not give credence to the governing party today. So hear us, things are not looking good, for heaven sake and for sake of our martyred brothers and sisters look at the enemy head on and the enemy is not your legal opposition. The legal opposition may not be nice but they are only fighting for the throne unlike Shaibia so to speak! (aigaforum 2/12/12)

Surely, no wimp abandons a promising medical career like Meles did for the hazardous life of a prolonged spell of armed clash with a totalitarian titan in the harshest terrain of rural Ethiopia. To the contrary, it is a mark of courage to even think of confronting a colossal tyrant backed by Africa’s largest army...
