The BBC gets it wrong on Gilgel Gibe III (MoFA 04/03/09):- The BBC documentary by Peter Greste focused on the Gilgel Gibe III Hydro-Electric Dam, under construction on the Omo River, in south west Ethiopia. In the face of it, the documentary is an attempt to sound an alarm on a serious catastrophe in the making in the form of a project that will threaten the environment as well as the livelihood—hence the lives—of the local population. The documentary and the conclusions the journalist draws are alarmist at best Africa granted its wish over IMF asset sale to fund rescueBy William Wallis, Africa Editor,:- On paper at least, African leaders appear to have emerged from the G20 summit with most of what they wanted. Meles Zenawi, the Ethiopian prime minister, who is officially representing the continent, had urged the International Monetary Fund to sell part of its gold reserves to finance a $50bn (€37bn, £34bn) rescue package for low-income countries. The summit approved the plan.See Also:  BBC commnet on G20 and the new world order

UpdateOLF and ONLF demonstration![]() The extremists, organized by Shaibia, who were huffing and puffing to be in London as we told you yesterday, were a no show. They were nowhere to be found, but Shaibia embassy in London has other foot soldiers, we found few OLF and ONLF supporters mingled in between all African protesters. So in fairness we ask our readers to visit BBC and learn what these people are complaining…about a president of Ethiopia? Need more to be convinced that the extremists do not have a message worthy to be noticed!
